Makeup has been a very controversial issue with many people around the world in whether makeup causes acne or not. Many people believe that wearing makeup can cause face breakouts, and especially worsen acne; however recent research by makeup experts provide evidence that they are wrong. Many people believe that wearing makeup can cause face breakouts. While reading and looking for answers people believe that makeup is a cause for acne. In the article, "Does Makeup Worsen Acne" talks about how makeup causes acne, having a person 's skin suffer from many imperfection flaws; such as "blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and inflammation worse." In 2005, they asked Dr. Hayashi and his Japanese colleagues, a makeup artist, to show 18 women with acne, some makeup techniques. This was the outcome "The women applied makeup for 4 weeks while their acne was treated. At the end of the study the women felt better about themselves, improved their social life, and their acne was better." It is said by recent research by makeup experts provide evidence that makeup does not cause acne, nor worsens it. Dr. Aurora DeJuliis, M.D., skin specialist lists a couple of things that a person is responsible for causing and worsening their own acne. Number 1. Not cleaning makeup brushes and tools regularly can cause bacteria, which can cause and worsen acne. Number 2. Sleeping with makeup on can cause a person 's face to have clogged pores. Dr. DeJuliis calls this "a mortal sin" which will soon become "big ol ' pimples". Number 3. Not changing pillow cases will cause bacteria and lead to acne on the face, which is due to it from being dirty having dead skin cells. When touching the face and picking at it will "spread infection, make the pimple even uglier and last longer, and create a scar" (Dr. DeJuliis). These are some of the reasons why people get acne and worsen it. It is their responsibility to take care of their skin. Makeup is not the cause of acne, it is just a myth.
