What is war? War is a state of armed conflict between nations or states, or a group within a nation or state. From 1914 to 1918, a war that was only thought to be a few weeks or months, turned into an ongoing war. The war ended with over 16 million deaths and caused mass destruction. This war was also ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, to hopefully mark World War I as the end of all wars.
1. Alliiances probably had the biggest impact for the start of World War 1. Without alliances other countries probably wouldn't have gotten involved. 2. Militarism was most likely the second cause of the war.
New weapons and technology were enhanced and more progressed. This caused the number of casualties to increase. World war I was the most deadliest war of all. Before the war had started, many European leaders believed if they created a balance of power, it could prevent conflict happening. Although, conflict did follow.
A significant enduring issue that has existed over time is conflict due to it being a lead to serious disagreements between different nations, as shown by World War 1 and World War 2. World War 1 was a world-changing event because new military technologies and strategies were created, as well as it was a cause of multiple empires falling, independence movements around the world, and the rise of Hitler. The main reason World War 1 started was because of an assassination of the Austrian Archduke in June 1914. Although multiple powerful nations created alliances with each other, there were severe land stalemates. Until Britain leaked a telegram from Germany to Mexico, asking Mexico to ally with them for Germany to invade the United States.

The conditions set for a major shift in power caused by Italian and German unification. This unification brought many new leaders of great power such as Victor Emmanuel II and Otto Von Bismarck. With newfound land, power, and wealth, Bismarck felt invincible and began to seek war and form alliances.
Causes of World War I World War I was the bar fight of all bar fights and was expected to end quickly. Unfortunately, the treacherous battle field held soldier's longer than expected. At first, Europe had been flourishing with colonies worldwide and had developed in technology greatly.
In the early 1900’s, europeans believed that their lives were grand. Even though Europe was the smallest continent in the world at that time, it controlled great empires around the world. Other countries were jealous of Europe's culture, technology, and high standard of living. Less than twenty years later, this all had changed. By the end of 1918, Europe had been in war for four years.
The war would unite countries around the world and cause many advances in technology and advances in battle tactics. It would also prove extremely costly for the entire world. World War II began on September 1, 1939 when Germany invaded poland which caused Britain and France to declare
In the end, no was at peace. The war was fought between mostly the European nation, like Britain, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Turkey. It was fought mainly in France, Italy, Russia, and Turkey. This was the “Great War,” a war to end all wars. It was fought through tanks, airplanes, gas, trenches, machine guns, and more.
World War 1 officially began on July 28, 1914, and lasted until November 11, 1918. It all began after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. Although the assassination did help the start of the war many other things helped too. Some other things that led up to World War 1 are militarism, alliances, and imperialism. Also even though World War 1 happened over 100 years ago, things that happened then can be connected to things that are happening today.
Main Causes of World War One Nationalism, Imperialism, Militarism, and Alliances helped to not only begin World War One, but also to propel it forward and fuel the fire that kept the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente, later referred to as the Central Powers and the Allies, in ongoing battles. Several events went down in order to instigate the beginning of this war, including the demands Austria-Hungary made of Serbia, the steadily increasing prices of war, and the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand which finally pushed it over the edge and was the leading cause in the outbreak of World War One. Even though there were many other causes, Nationalism, Imperialism, Militarism, and Alliances were definitely the main leading causes. Nationalism was only one of the four main motives that helped World War One begin. There are a a lot of events that led to the beginning of World War II. But, a lot of the events leading to World War II were a direct result due to World War I. One event leading to World War II started with Hitler rising to power in the 1930s, as he was trying to rebuild Germany. As Germany, was crippled due to World War I and the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was crippled due to World War I and the Treaty of Versailles because Germany lost the war, had to take responsibility, and pay a large amount of money. This caused Germany to be in a turmoil.

There were many innocent people who were just living a regular life didn’t know what was about to hit them. People like to say that there were five different causes of World war 1.
