Women’s roles in the household, the family life they dreamed of, their rights in society, and their values towards themselves have all made a huge impact and difference on the women then and now. Sixty years ago, women were simple minded, simply because that was what they were taught. Women were taught to aspire to be a housewife, mom, and cook, taught to be submissive to the “alpha” of the household. Men were in control, they received the education, made the decisions, and ran the businesses, women were simply there to take care of them.
