The Gilded Age Workers’ Experience After reading Sadie Frowne’s account, in The Story of a Sweatshop Girl. I was shocked how difficult the lives of the people that worked in these factories, during the Gilded Age, were. Frowne has always been poor and her family has always struggled with buying food and keeping their business running. Once Frowne’s father died, her family had it worse. Frowne started her working experience in her family’s shop, and when she got a little older her family came to the United States by ship.

One way, Jerry Spinelli, developed the trait sympathetic when she was letting Maniac talk to her on her way to school (page 11).The reason is that she let him talk to her even she ended up late, and she let him walk to school with her. Another way Amanda was shown to be sympathetic was when she let Maniac have a book to read (page 13). The next reason is that she let him borrow it and she knew he would give it back, but she didn’t want to give him her house number. Lastly, the author showed that Amanda was sympathetic when Amanda gave up her room, so Maniac could sleep somewhere else other than the couch.

To underestimate someone can lead to people doubting themselves because other people are underestimating them making them feel worthless. When people feel worthless they tend to not talk to anyone and just want to be alone just being lonely all because people underestimated them and always told them they can’t do anything. In Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon, there is a girl, Madeline, who is sick and can not go outside. She has never kept a secret from her mother until she gets to meet this boy named Olly. One day she decides to run away from home and finally she gets to see what she has always wanted to see, the ocean. Madeline and her mother have always had a good relationship and they don’t keep secrets from each other. Until the boy comes into the picture.
Rose Shelton is a resolute individual. Her persona is unraveled throughout the movie and by the last scene the viewer is surely to gain an appreciation for her. What weighs in on Rose 's temperament are her characteristics: her clumsiness, honesty, and her compassion for others. It is clearly shown that Rose is an awkward person. During the beginning of the movie Rose is frantically entering the office late because she had gotten distracted by her walk in the park.
In the book Girl, Interrupted, by Susanna Kaysen, one of the biggest focal points is mental illness. Mental illness can be tough to talk about, simply because the phrase “mental illness” encompasses such a wide range of conditions and conjures up images of deranged people, but it is very important, especially in this book. There is a certain stigma that people who are put into mental hospitals because they have medical problems or are insane and a possible danger to society. While this is sometimes true, it is far more common for patients to need help for a disorder, but just don’t know where to go or what to do, and can end up putting themselves or someone else in danger.
They say actions speak louder than words. Even though words may have a lot of impact on the things we say and do, actions can affect the way that we live. More specifically, the actions of others seem to have the greatest impact on the way we see the world and the way we live our lives.
