Musicians normally make profit from royalties every time they sell a record; however, through piracy musicians and music industries are incapable of making money. A study by the Institute of Policy Innovation Piracy stated that the U.S. economy suffers the loss of $12.5 billion with 70,000 jobs being lost and $2 billion loss in wages. In order to at least stop or slow down music piracy there are now apps and sites, such as iTunes and Amazon, that allows people to purchase cheap, specific songs easily.
