In this case, a divided married couple Charles and Tracey Thurman experienced a vicious split-up. Documents report, the first time Tracey had contact with the Torrington Police Department (TPD) (October 1982) was after her husband became violent towards Charles Thurman, Jr (son) out of the residence. Sadly, officers from the TPD refused to take Tracey's complaint resulting in the escalation of Charles violent behavior. I’ve worked as a Police Officer for the past two years and every shift I am required to have a high level of attention to detail. Attention to detail is necessary daily to make decisions when working in the field. As a police officer attention to detail is necessary anywhere from the most routine traffic stop to worst domestic. Without attention to detail you are unable to make accurate decisions and unable to justify what you have done e.g. writing a speeding ticket, writing someone for disorderly conduct, or arresting someone for domestic abuse.

So I'm explaining my story very laid back exactly how everything happened in my eyes. While the other person is shaking, stuttering, and freaking out... With Michael Brown, if the reports are supposed as fact, then being cooperative from the beginning and never reaching in the police vehicle could have prevented any use of force. People need to teach their kids, no matter what race or class they are, how to deal with police officers, and that so long as you are cooperative and respectful, there are usually no issues. Police brutality is a real problem that creates a huge divide between people. Police are the peacekeepers and most of them are good, but some abuse their power and authority. People under their protection must not lose faith in them. The vast majority of the police force throughout America joins to make their community a better and safer place, some however, lose the way of the oath they take, that says they will treat everyone with equal rights and respect, and start to abuse their power, but faith should still be put in them. Some may say that all police are corrupt, and are only there for power and/or to benefit themselves, and we should not trust them.
Police deviance is something that isn’t particularly talked about in the open. The reactions to certain actions by the police are either kept under wraps or blown up in the media to a dramatic extent. The purpose of this paper is to focus on the negative side of police deviance and the repercussions that follow.
