They all use their experience and judgement or better known as police discretion. Officers use their years of experience and knowledge to decide how to approach a situation. It’s unfortunate that police officers would open fire even if the person is unarmed. Your statement of how people are judged within 10 seconds of the meeting is quite accurate, because I’ve heard things from people about others from the first time they meet someone. It is nice knowing how in the Bay Area there aren 't much racial discrimination occurring, because all the cultures has came together and merged.
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to identify the main sources of stress for law enforcement professionals and the effects that these stressors may have. In researching several studies that have been done, on the topic of police stress in recent years, three main categories of stress and several physiological and psychological health consequences were found to be prevalent in policing. Stressors faced by police officers can be either intra-interpersonal, occupational, or organizational. Law enforcement professionals are more likely to have poor health and be at higher risk of a cardiovascular event than the general population.
