Legitimate Evidence “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”- Carl Sagan. The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller, is a play based on the injustice of the ‘Red Scare’. Arthur Miller is one of America’s greatest playwrights and is praised for his moral courage for refusing to name names of Communist Party members before the House Unamerican Activities Committee. Another brave man during the time was Herb Block; who made political cartoons such as “I have here in my hands” and “We now have important evidence”. In both Herb Block’s cartoons and Arthur Miller’s play flawed, faulty and unreasonable evidence is used to accuse and convict many innocent people.
In history there have been many major events that have shaped the times we live in. Two of the major events of our time are the "witchunts" of the Salem Witch Trials and McCarthyism. The Crucible is a 1953 play by American playwright Arthur Miller. It is a drama and fictional story of the Salem Witch Trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692-1693. Miller wrote the play as a parable for McCarthyism, when the United States government ostracized people for being communists.
Before the operation, Charlie attended an adult night school to try to become smarter. Even when Charlie found out that he was going to deteriorate, he spent long hours trying to prevent it from happening. When the operation did indeed wear off completely he states in his last progress report that he is going to keep trying to get smart. Charlie isn’t only motivated but he is also determined and obedient. Charlie did whatever the doctors asked of him and he worked to his full ability even when it was hard to.

At the end of the story he leaves New York because he is embarrassed. That everybody saw him in a smart way and now that he isn't smart people are going to make fun of him. People think that getting a surgery is bad,but honestly it's good for people that need help that have mental issues. Daniel Keyes betrays the theme that intelligence doesn’t affect who you truly are. Before the operation, Charlie has a motivated characteristic and it is still there after the operation when he was getting more intelligent. I know this because in the passage it says, “ I’ll show that mouse I can be as smart as he is (Keyes p. 352),” which shows that Charlie is motivated before the operation . The test also says, “ Miss Kinnian teaches me to spell better (Keyes p. 358),” which shows that Charlie was still motivated and still working to get smarter after the operation. Charlie is a motivated character and that doesn’t change after the operation.
However, after the surgery, Charlie finds intelligence was a nice treat but was far from an importance in life and only took him away from what truly mattered. One could believe Charlie was wrong to undergo the surgery because of the side effects that came with the surgery such as physical and emotional instability, and amnesia, the depresion it came with, and how he lost all of his friends and loved ones with his extreme intelligence. First off, one reason Charlie should not have gotten the surgery is the depression and suicidal thoughts it came with for
When I was in 7th grade, I had played football for the school. One day during summer camp, we were going over plays and positions and one play someone had said something to me. During the next play I was angry at the kid so I went directly for him. I dropped my shoulder and hit him hard and he laid flat like a pancake on the turf.

Although, if Charlie did not have the surgery, he would not have had the experience of becoming super smart. Charlie would agree with me that he did not feel happy with himself that he had the surgery. He decided that he wanted to leave New York because he was so embarrassed about pulling a “Charlie Gordon.” Charlie should not have had the surgery because, before the surgery, he had the motivation to become smart, and after the surgery, he became depressed and realized that the world plus the people in it are
think that VCs are hard to regulate and monitor, as they involve different entities locally and internationally, most of the outside the traditional monetary system. Some regulators have started to respond to this issue. The regulators have developed several approaches, which include the possibility of applying the existing legislation to VCs, issuing warnings to consumers, enforcing licensing obligations on certain VC market players, banning financial institutions from dealing in VCs, completely prohibiting the usage of VCs, and suing abusers. However, these regulations are in early stage, and regulators should think more innovatively to address their concerns without harming the ongoing innovation (European Central Bank : Virtual Currency
