The play The Crucible by Arthur Miller had implicit details and some of the character functioned poignantly the readers to change the way the feel about a character. Specifically Reverend Parris’s character showed ones action will always come back to haunt one when a dagger clattered through his window. Parris had found the girls in the forest dancing and said to Abby “I cannot blink what I saw Abigail, for my enemies will not blink it”. This incident made Parris worried about people who may have saw the girls dancing as well, so he decides to become an iconoclast and tries to keep it a secret to protect himself.
