While reading this piece of writing, multiple reasons came to mind of why I thought Mark Haddon set out to write this story. The main two reasons I thought was that he wanted to talk in the perspective of a mentally challenged individual, and as well as being influenced on his daily life to grab the attention of his audience. The Curious Incident of the dog in the night time was a novel based on a teenage boy who had a disorder that caused him to be mentally challenged. Reading this story, I'm sure readers were able to see how Christopher Boone lifestyle was. He was very different from others. It was said that Mark Haddon had worked with young children and teens who had physical and mental disabilities including autism. I think that is what really provoked and inspired him to write this piece. Obviously he was influenced in a way to want to indulge in creating this story. As stated prior to this, he must've wanted readers to see and get insight of what he see when dealing with these “different” children. I do think the author accomplished what he set out to do because this book gained lots of readers and recognition. This book was selling in over more than 35 countries, so it had catch readers attention in a way. I think anybody and everybody should read this book. The mentally ill children definitely should take the time out to read this story because they are not alone and that its people out in the world like Mark Haddon that cares that they are different, but different in a unique way. As well as, normal people I think should read this too. They get to see what it's like to be living with a mentally challenged disorder and how you're treated while having it. Out of all kinds of people, I think this story would appeal to the people that's mentally
