D-Day the biggest sea and land invasion in history this day will be a defining moment to end the german occupation of Europe. World war II is in its fourth year of war the Allied powers successfully won north africa and invaded and defeated Italy it is the time to liberate france and other countries under german rule. The capital was freed by Allied and French resistance fighters outnumbered the german troops at the french capital and as the capital was taken the allies moved eastward towards germany but the battles for france is still not over when the U.S. army moved the southeastern part of france towards a town and this town will lead to the biggest tank and infantry battles of the second world war and its the battle of Aeracor the battle began when the U.S. tank divisions moved in to the town and the germans planned to take back france and the town is where the germans will strike and the battle began when german panzer divisions and panzer brigades advanced into the town and a few days later the american tank and soldier divisions almost lost the battle do to panzer divisions almost flanked the U.S. defensive line but a platoon of tank destroyers lead by Jimmy leach intercepted the german tanks he lost 3 of his fellow tankers but another platoon of 4 tanks pushed the germans back which lead to the U.S. tankers winning the battle at Aeracor this allied victory prevented the germans from getting a foothold in france and now head towards germany and end the war and the german occupation once and for
