Abortion is the killing of an innocent human being and it should absolutely not be allowed. Not including “back ally” abortions, over fifty- eight million abortions have occurred since it was legalized in 1973 with the Roe v. Wade case. How many Jeffersons have been destroyed in the name of “convenience”? How many Edisons have been erased from the pages of human progress? It teaches the general basics and is necessary due to the fact that students don’t know how easy it is to get pregnant. It brings students out of ignorance and into the real world. In 2011, nearly half (45% or 2.8 million) of the 6.1 million pregnancies in the United States each year were unintended. The other 55% of pregnancies were intended. This shows that nearly half of abortions are unplanned, so, people need to be educated on the responsibilities it takes to have a kid. This can lower abortion rates.
In addition, birth control needs to be available. Although, opponents might think this act is encouraging teenagers to have sex and be irresponsible; the ones who have unsafe sex are likely to become pregnant. Then on the relationship between induced abortion and child abuse, if they do have the unwanted child, they’ll most likely abuse him or her.
