Love can be described as the feeling between two people that causes them to care about one another more than anything else. Its that warm, butterfly like feeling inside ones stomach, the thought that always races back and leads to a smile. There are millions of movies, books, stories, plays, pictures, and songs that revolve around the idea of love, what it feels like to be in love, the reasons to love and why love can hurt. A true display of how instense love can be takes place in the classic play Romeo and Juliet. In William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet he conveys that because love is overpowering it can take control over someone’s thoughts.
By going from lust to love, Romeo and Juliet’s true love conveys Shakespeare’s message that love is stronger than hate. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet’s true love overcomes their families’ dislike for one another. The Montagues and Capulets, Romeo and Juliet’s families, have had an ongoing dispute that cannot be resolved. However, in certain situations, Romeo and Juliet had to look past this.
Love can be defined in a multitude of ways, for example Merriam-Webster defines it as, ¨[a] strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties¨ although, love can also be more than a definition, as it is a feeling. In William Shakespeare's, Much ado about Nothing, many are sceptic of Claudio and Hero’s love and if it is truly real, or just lust. Some reasons to further prove Claudio and Hero’s love isn’t real is they simply don’t trust each other and Claudio moves on from Hero quickly. To begin, Claudio and Hero don’t love each other because they don’t trust each other.

Love is a relative term. For one, it may resemble a passion distinct from another. However, regardless of its true definition, a rising demographic has argued of the plausibility behind love at first sight, a heavy reliance throughout Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Thus, it is worth noting that Romeo’s love for Juliet is in fact not true love, as he has forgotten of whom he once thought his only desire, wishes to be married a single day following his encounter, and remains far too young to understand what love truly is.
Love is expressed differently in every relationship. Although Romeo and Juliet just met, Juliet is affectionate and loving towards Romeo. Juliet expresses her love through symbolism by saying “this bud of love, by summer's ripening breath, may prove a beauteous flower when next we meet”(II.ii.128-129). She symbolizes her love to a flower that is still growing, similarly to her relationship with Romeo. Juliet is honest with herself and understands that her relationship with Romeo is still growing and is not at its fullest yet.
