The reporting party (RP) stated foster children Gisselle and Perla Vasquez 's aunt Angela Sanchez came into the Sheriff 's Station and reported she gained custody of the children on 12/21/16. On 12/23/16 Perla disclosed she was inappropriately touched by foster mother Debbie Reynolds. The abuse allegation referral #1211-0745-8341-2072794 was generated on 12/25/16 and a complaint was generated on 12/27/16 (#32-CR-20161227135936). The RP stated the aunt disclosed the foster mother hit the foster children while in care. Consequently the RP interviewed the children and Gisselle disclosed the foster mother would slap the children on the arm or hand as a form of discipline.
Baby Project This past weekend I embarked on a journey, and no probably not the journey you think of. This weekend I had to take home the Real Care Baby project. Going into this project I was not really quite sure what to expect.
Growing up in foster care can be challenging, then transitioning out of foster care into the real world can be extremely difficult without the acquired skills and the support of family. It may seem as though there are too many odds and statics stacked up against you, waiting for you to fail. My injustice project helps to address these issues through mentoring and building relationships letting them now that they are important and can do anything they set their mind to accomplish. The concepts of social stratification, status, privilege and oppression relate to the topic of transitioning foster children by informing previous understandings and societal views.
A total of 3.3 million young adults between the ages of twenty to thirty four year olds lived with their parents in the United States are experiencing an increasingly prolonged transition to adulthood. It is no longer assumed that they will automatically become self-sufficient adults on their eighteenth birthday. The purpose of this study will be to look at how the foster care system prepare youth for life after foster care and the copping skills of emancipated foster youth. The goal of this study will be to identify areas that are barriers to youth achieving positive outcomes as they transition from foster care to adulthood. Foster care is not a perfect system. Many children that are put into the foster care system are separated from their siblings and put into harmful environments. These environments are supposed to be safe and give the child a chance at a better life. However, children living in group homes are not able to develop secure attachment to the people who are supposed to take care of them. Children bounce back and forth from house to house, family to family, causing them to live in an unstable environment through most (if not all of) their child hood.
Our foster care system was developed in the 19 century, and it all started with Charles Loring Brace taking in homeless children. The system has come a long way since it started by passing laws, such as the child abuse prevention and treatment act, that protect children, and among another things, however, it still has problems. Some of the major issues they have are children placements, preparing them for adulthood, the rules and regulations with the foster parents, and drug abuse among teens in foster care. Child welfare promises these kids a place to call home, to be loved, supported and cherished, as every child should. Some of these kids go from foster home to another one, which affects them in their development.
As we move into the future, the automotive industry is slowly inching towards fully-autonomous vehicles. It’s important to define fully-autonomous as a vehicle that is capable of driving itself without needing any type of driver assistance, such that the everyone in the vehicle is a passenger. Even though production of self-driving cars has not begun, the discussion of ethical issues surrounding vehicle artificial intelligence has. The range of issues include crash optimization, algorithm transparency for end users, loss of jobs and overall vehicle security. There is a important distinction between crash avoidance and crash optimization, the former is engaged before the latter.
Thus, “microcosmos” describes how there can be a world comparable to the size of a solar system far smaller than Earth, which contradicts the denotations of smallness and a large system. This oxymoron reflects how the cosmos of bacteria was so much smaller than the cosmos of humans, just as humans are but the size of bacteria when looking at the universe.
The foster care systems has and will always be a part of society. The idea of a foster care system has always been around, even if it was not properly attained in the past. There has also been other methods to try to find placement for children with no or bad homes, for example the orphanage train, living with widows or living house to house in a community. Now in today’s time, we have an organized system of foster care with two different types of homes for children. For example we have group homes, which is a care facility that houses six or more children at a time.
Siblings have a bond that ties them to one another for their whole lives, whether they live together or hundred miles apart. There are some situations though that split up a sibling relationship like divorce or foster care. Foster care can be the glue to hold the children's future together, but it is the knife that cuts siblings apart. The splitting of siblings especially in foster care can be traumatic and detrimental to those children. Due to regulations of age or number of children allowed in a foster home, siblings must be split up which can cause behavioral, psychological, relationship issues with one or all of the siblings.

It will be 5 years this June that I have been in the Foster Care System, I can still remember walking home from school smelling the fresh breeze of air, all the sweaty kids running to their cars waiting to head home from school, or to the ice cream trucks that all had the same foul smell of cheese and takis that followed every breeze that came near. There are four types of development, physical, cognitive, emotional, and social. Physical development is the growth of gross and fine motor, skills. Gross motor skills are walking, running, throwing, and crawling. Fine motor skills are writing, holding a fork, and using scissors. Physical development is also the easiest to see.
Literature Review Throughout the years, research has been conducted on the effects that foster care can have on children. In the United States alone, there are roughly 670,000 children who have spent time in the foster care system each year (“Foster Care,” 2017). Of those children, approximately 33% of them age out of foster care system. Studies then show that the foster care system has had varying effects on the children who are/have been a part of it. In many cases, studies have noted the effects of attachment for children in foster care.
The last level of Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory is known as the macrosystem. This level is the largest level and might not seem to have such a great affect on a child, but even though it doesn’t seem like it has an effect on a child it can be the level that has the most affect on a child. This level has a great influence on a child’s development. Like all the other levels the level can also affect a child either positive or negatively.
