Philip Kitcher in “Abusing science: The case against creationism” argues about how creationists have motives in which they want to show that the theory of evolution are just lies. They will pick on every theory they find and claim them as untestable. The author states that creationist use tautology objection, which means that whatever the evolution theory is it cannot be tested and is classified as not real science. The author hen states that creationist do not thoroughly understand what their objections borrowed from evolutionist really mean. All they do is get whatever information makes sense to them and turn it around to a point in which will justify their point of view against evolutionist.
What Darrow meant in his statement is using the Bible as an argument of why evolution shouldn’t be thought to the children in Tennessee schools doesn’t make sense because the Bible is about religion not science. The next argument Darrow makes is the law does not specify what can be taught but the law does say that you cannot teach anything that conflicts with the Bible. Darrow argues that not everyone who reads the Bible is going to have the same concept of the Bible. Everybody has their own understanding of the Bible and its meaning. Those who criticize Harris believe that forcing people to choose whether they believe in faith or science will only further divide the scientific and religious communities. I think we can easily see how the two accounts of events for the creation of life fit together. The scriptures tell of what God did and science shows us a view going back in time of how everything happened. Science doesn't contradict the Creation at all, it's showing it to us. I don't see how they have to cause problems with each other than if someone simply believes in only science or religion over the other. But just looking at the two accounts, one can see the same story basically told only through different means.
Science and religion have always collided with one another because they represent completely opposite notion 's. Science is facts about the world based off of observations and experiments. Religion is believing in a higher power that is in control, such as God or Buddha. The relationship between the two sides have debated against each other for an extensive amount of time. Science believes that nature is in control, whereas Religion believes that a particular God or higher power is in control. This issue came to light in October of 2004 in a town called Dover, Pennsylvania.
While someone may not want to believe in something they cannot see or touch, science is not always accurate. Proving that both theories, whether scientific or religious, have they are on flaws and various areas for disbelief. However, whichever one a person decides to side with is going to have to have a little bit of faith. Maybe religion more than scientific but they both require a high amount of faith and relatively good evidence. Nevertheless, we need both to see the world from different perspectives.
The evolution theory was first introduced to the world by Charles Darwin, a well known naturalist and biologist, in 1859 when he published his book, On the Origin of Species. The science community accepted the theory with open arms but it received immediate backlash from the public, specifically religious groups. The religious groups, mostly Christians, felt that Darwin’s book questioned creationism and that it undermined the Bible on how human life was created and first existed. Although widely accepted today, the scientific community still receives criticism on the theory that came out a little less than 200 years ago. Evolution and religion are able to coexist without each one bashing the other.

I think science and religion are both very important to the way of life and how we see the entire universe. But I believe religion is more believable than science. For science can be proven wrong at any given time and religion can never be stated untrue. Such as the story of creation, evolution, practices and beliefs can contradict these theories.
