Because they favor and choose sides, the gods are intensifying the entire war altogether, influencing characters to act a certain way in hopes of tipping the scales. However, this divine intervention causes conflict amongst the gods themselves as well. As said before, the gods are seen to be picking sides: Athena and Hera with the Greeks; Apollo and Ares with the Trojans. With each god siding with different men, there emerges a war between the gods themselves, reflecting that in the mortal world.
She is believed to have fought alongside the Greek gods during the Trojan War and is often shown with her shield and spear. Additionally, Athena is seen as a guardian of cities. Athena as the Goddess of Justice: The ancient Greeks revered Athena as both the goddess of justice and the giver of eloquence.
It recounts the story of war heroes and the beginning of the war. Through this myth, we learned that the Trojan War began because of a disagreement between the goddesses; Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. Zeus sent the goddesses to Paris, where
During the Trojan War, Ares backed the Trojans while Athena (Goddess of War) supported the Greeks. She easily defeated him by angering him with insults and knocking him down with a huge stone(Nardo,Don. Ancient Greece. Detroit). in another legend, Ares severely wounded with whom he fought in defense of his own son, Cycnus.
Someone once said, “War is a curse on humanity that never ends.” Liam O’Flaherty’s “The Sniper, Homer’s “The Odyssey”, and Tim O'Brien's “Ambush” show that war is a curse in different ways. Firstly, Liam O’Flaherty’s “The Sniper” shows the first part of the the curse of war: war tears families apart. In “The Sniper”, a young sharpshooter faces off against his target, another marksman. The sniper gets shot in the arm, but manages to kill his target using his revolver.
Ares’s strong personality prompted even his parents, Zeus and Hera, to dislike him. His bloodthirst and love for conflict are traits that show he’s the exact opposite of Athena, goddess of war strategy and wisdom, who’s often praised by gods and mortals alike. Especially Zeus himself who favored her the most among all the gods, he hated Ares just as much. The Trojan War is an example of Ares’s reckless acts, in Homer’s version is a perfect example of Ares showing up only in times where there’s conflict. Fighting alongside the Trojans, though as the god of war it’s expected he would win, it’s not surprising that his hot headed nature only worked against him, which is unsurprising that the the war resulted in the Achaeans victory, especially

We started by discussing our general thoughts about the Iliad. Keldan brought up the interesting nature of the Greek's descriptions battle and was wondering about the meaning of describing battles by the heroes that lead them rather than the tactics used. Kayla asked what everyone thought about the permanence of war after reading. She asked if humans will always be destined to war or if they experienced too much would they stop of their own accord. We then recapped the previous class for Alinani.

In ancient Greece religion was an important facet of everyday life as well as an essential aspect of warfare and battle. Soldiers in ancient Greece frequently sought support from the deities to ensure a safe and conclusive victory through ritual sacrifice. Sometimes warriors even had to sacrifice multiple times to ensure support, even if this meant postponing battle. Religion did not only dictate the time in which one could begin a battle, but times in which battles could not be fought at all, that is during festivals and religious games. Religion also dictated spaces in which battles could not be fought, in holy sites such as temples, and spaces in which battles should be fought, something that could be decided through the interpretation of religious prophecies.
Athena is known as the goddess of war. Odysseus was aided by her ideas on how to regain power through her tactical skills. The fact that the goddess warrior was on his side through the journey home, reclaiming his land, and killing the suitors was a huge advantage. Athena is very intelligent in how she strategizes and won wars in the past. Some may argue that Odysseus is the real hero but there were many times throughout The Odyssey where he needed Athena’s protection and input of logical ideas.
This is an observation of the human-like struggles for control although, in this instance, they are played out in a divine stage as a seeming extension of the ancient mythical tales. However, exceeding that, the representation of Zeus and Ares in the movie "Wonder Woman" is not in proper alignment with Greek mythology . For instance, the movie describes Zeus as a benevolent mere god with love for his human creations and attempts to come to their defense from the corruption of Ares by creating the Amazon race
Final Thoughts Overall, Marvel vs Capcom 1 has stood the test of time and still is an amazing game as it was back in 1998. It’s this game’s success that had Capcom produce 3 sequels. Marvel vs Capcom is still being played in smaller fighting game tournaments and FGC with countless videos all over the internet showing off matches, infinites, and tutorials for those wanting to enter the competitive field. It’s the game that introduced me into the world of Marvel, Capcom, and fighting games over 13 years ago.
Because of their differences they fought a lot. One of their fights would be the Trojan War. Ares joined the Trojans and Athena the Greeks.
War- a pleasurable and rewarding or detrimental and sorrowful act. War is fought among groups of individuals who do not agree on something or prefer a specific idea, leading to rivalry, causing injuries, bloodshed, and an overall victory among one side or the other. The Trojan War was the setting of the work by Homer, The Iliad; though it did not begin until the final year of the war, the tenth year (Puchner 224). The war itself was not depicted as something that was negative, instead, for the characters it was a positive aspect, as it was a way for them to gain kleos, everlasting glory; they were willing to partake in war to possibly receive the gift they have always wished for. Where The Iliad seemed to celebrate war, it also went through the brutal deaths, slavery, sicknesses, and intense fighting mechanisms.
