When I first saw this poem I was surprised how Holub decided to approach to life. From my point of view he is the writer who wants to embolden humans to persevere in their objectives.
What is your vision of life? What does the opportunities in life mean for you, and how will you approach to them? The Czech poet Miroslav Holub has written this poem ‘The door’ with the intention to describe to people why change in life is good and why people should not be afraid of them. Therefore, the main subject and symbol of this poem is the door which can be a barrier in life that is trying to protect humans from being disappointed, but at the same time by opening the door a person can make the world a better place for oneself and use the most of life. Furthermore, the poem is full of multitudinous visual pictures of simple things which are a part of everyday life on earth. With simple images the writer explains the process of changing one self, trying to connect everyday things. The poet believes that he is able to encourage the readers to think more about their life and at the end make a drought how to overcome obstacles and achieve what they have planned.

In the first line of first stanza Holub use concrete image “Go and open the door.” With this sentence placed on a very fist beginning of a poem he is trying to feature importance of being open-minded and leaving “comfort zones” in order to create something valuable in life. This poem represents the door as a symbol. Through whole poem the writer repeats the words “Go and open the door” and that is there with the reason, these words gave us a stronger meaning and make this poem more serious.
