The Epic of Gilgamesh gives a lot of insight to what was happening and what was expected in ancient Mesopotamia. The epic poem which revolves around a king, includes many details in to the civilization, beliefs, and values of the Mesopotamians. The king thrives to be remembered and many of his actions reflect that. The Epic of Gilgamesh show how an ideal heroic king should be in ancient Mesopotamia. The first thing it shows us is that hero kings should be strong.
In comparison, it’s always observed on how different scholars find the similarity of especially marital settings, characters, and as well as the wanderings of the mythological world. Different events within the life of these characters cover broadly a huge range of epic encounters that are heroic. The character, emotional and psychological development of Gilgamesh can be borrowed especially from the ancient heroic perspectives of mortality and death while comparing with Achilles. Mesopotamian civilization has had several phases in which hero Gilgamesh has been in existence, however having similar attributes. One of the earliest stories of Gilgamesh is developed from Sumerian texts, one of the most influential and well-known poems (Michelakis & Pantelis 2007).
Gilgamesh is a powerful yet emotional king. Gilgamesh shows his weak side by saying “I have wept for him day and night…” After this he remains an epic hero in my opinion. The text states he went on a great dangerous journey and survived and killed the guard of The Cedar
To begin an epic poem includes a strong warrior and leader which would be Gilgamesh himself, who demonstrates courage and takes risks . The narrator is the compelling confident speaker who tells us that Gilgamesh takes a long journey to fight Humbaba, and shows his triumph in battle. Furthermore Lord Shamash helps Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh is an epic hero because in Part 1 he takes on the long journey along with his friend Enkidu seems to be Gilgamesh's adviser. For example along the journey to the mountain Gilgamesh has what he believes are bad dreams but being the positive person Enkidu is who told Gilgamesh the dreams had a meaning to it and were good dreams, in other words they were signs the Gilgamesh will defeat Humaba.
Prompt 1 From boastful, prideful, and tyrant that ended up to be the nice and good king of Uruk. The Epic of Gilgamesh is an epic from Mesopotamia. The author of the epic is still anonymous. The story of The Epic of Gilgamesh is about a tyrant king from Uruk changed into a good and better person and named as Gilgamesh.
In my opinion Gilgamesh story was an awful story because it tell about a man who is a hero, but in reality thats a lie. Gilgamesh was a king that didn’t really appreciate the people and thing in his life; into horrible thing had to happen to made him see want he had lost. Gilgamesh as king treated people with disrespect and cruelty and no-matter-what that and that is no hero in my book. I believe that the adventure he went out with his friend, Enkidu are only benefit to himself and his selfish reason. Through is quest for trying to defeat a lion and go through mountains and other meracouse adventure he find common sense in all of it.

Both poems are from the category of epic poetry and have a time difference of at least one thousand years apart. Their themes explore different aspects of human cultures and ideologies. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a poem from early Mesopotamian culture while the onset of the Greek civilization inspired The Odyssey. The main characters for these epics are Gilgamesh, a demigod and ruler of Uruk, and Odysseus a great warrior returning home to his wife from war.
Sir Isaac Newton, an english physicist and mathematician, was one of the ,most brilliant scientist in history. Before the age of thirty, he had made many important discoveries in physics and even invented a new kind of mathematics called calculus. Newton's three laws of motion are probably the most widely used natural laws in all of science. The laws explain the relationship between the forces acting on an object, the object's mass, and motion. This essay explain newton's first law, second law, and third law Newton's first law says that objects continue the motion they already have unless they are acted on by a net force.
Literature, art, and music have always found ways to transcend the physical barriers and borders humans put up. They influence cultures other than the ones of their origins. Similarities between religions, mythologies, and folk stories have been noted often throughout time by academics and historians. The holy texts of some major religions like The Old Testament and the Quran share many overlapping literary themes and events with older religions and folk tales, like the ancient Sumerian poem; “The Epic of Gilgamesh”. Many examples of overlapping themes is the presence and references to great floods, supernatural influences, otherworldly gardens, and battles between good and evil.
The Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest story known to mankind, being written on Sumerian clay almost five thousand years ago (Garone). Since the story was originally known orally, the culture and themes from The Epic of Gilgamesh must have existed long before it was finally inscribed (Mark 4). Having known this, the cultures and themes can be compared to today’s society, discovering about how they have shifted and evolved, and also observe how they are similar. The ancient days of Gilgamesh has brought culture that has greatly influenced today’s society. Because Gilgamesh was set around the time of late Babylonian or early Sumerian society, the Babylonian and Sumerian cultures also play a role in shaping the world into what is is today (Mark).
Literary devices are used to bridge the gaps and fill in the cracks for me where simple words do not suffice in some stories. I find myself constantly searching stories for and identifying different types of literary devices. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, three uses of literary devices were demonstrated and used consistently. These literary devices are: repetition, imagery and flashbacks. This literary narrative is centered on an epic journey that utilizes literary devices to enhance the complexity and understanding in the story.
The early Gilgamesh was full of hubris as much as he is full greatness. But towards the end of the poem
