The Fall of Big Brother “Until they became conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.”(Orwell, George. 1984. 1949. Centennial ed. New York: Harcourt Brace, 2003. Print.) Oppressive governments like Big Brothers will always fall as long as there are people who think freely. The biggest issue is that big brother specifically targets those who do think freely so that makes it very difficult to be able to overtake big brother. People who do not want to live by government standards are to be killed because they are a risk to their power. Government powers should only be used to serve its people and not to have total control over them. People do not always know what they might want be most people have a desire to be free. Being told what to do and what to think all of the time is not very appealing. The biggest issue is being born into a society that is not free and never knowing what it feels like to be free so there is nothing to compare freedom to. it is very easy for us to say that a big brother type government is terrible but to someone who was born and raised in that might not think it is so bad. …show more content…

The party’s language of newspeak has also slowly faded from use which shows that people are using their own words to communicate in any way they desire. The large vocabulary is a reflection that people are learning and are heading more towards a free country. in 1984 the group with the most freedom was the proles which were the lowest class of people. it is most likely that they are the ones who had overthrown the party and placed themselves in
