The movie 42 is based on the historical event of the first professional African American baseball player. Jackie Robinson, played by Chadwick Boseman, has to make his mark in Major League Baseball. 42 displays the discrimination that the black community underwent in the 1960s. Becoming the first African American professional would not have been an easy task by any means; at the time, blacks were not allowed to use the same bathrooms, drinking fountains, hotels, etc, as the white community. Dut to the actors and the emotions they bring forth from the audience, the music that enhances these emotions, and the realism of the of the time period, the movie 42 successfully captures this historical milestone.
The events in 42 are brought to life by Chadwick Boseman (Jackie Robinson), Harrison Ford (Branch Rickey), Nicole Beharie (Rachel Robinson), and Alan Tudyk (Ben Chapman). Branch Rickey is the general manager and president of the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1945, he …show more content…

Harrison Ford who has also starred as Han Solo in Star Wars and as the title character in Indiana Jones, both award-winning movies. His magnificent acting continues throughout the movie of 42, as he depicts the struggle the criticism that signing an African American baseball player presented. Chadwick Boseman an up and coming actor that plays the role of Jackie Robinson, Boseman does a wonderful job of acting the part his emotions throughout the movie really helps the audience depict how difficult it would have been to overcome to criticism that Jackie had to deal with all because of the color of his skin. Alan Tudyk not only plays Ben Chapman in 42 but he has also acted and been a voice actor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Moana, Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, these are just a few examples of the more recent movies that he has acted
