“Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hatred. It is a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness”-Corrie Ten Boom. (“The beautiful kingdom warriors”). Forgiveness is easier sometimes when it 's a personal attack, but attacking a loved one it is a on a whole different level completely. After Corrie Ten Boom was released, she went back to the concentration camp and forgave the men who did the horrible things to her.
The novel “The Fifth Rule” is written in the third person limited point of view and alternates through the perspective of two characters, Chad Kennedy (known as Reef) and Elizabeth Hemmings (known as Leeza). These two characters are separated due to a restraining order requested by Leeza’s controlling mother in order to end their past relationship with each other. When Reef decides that he wants to meet up with Leeza in order to apologize to her, “his head [whirls] with indecision” (Aker 111), which shows the third person point of view. This narrative point of view can also be seen in Leeza’s perspective when “[she] feels an overwhelming sense of her own disaster” (Aker 114) when she believes that Reef is somewhere around her.
Throughout the book, the recurring message that Immaculée shares with her readers is that anyone can learn to forgive no matter how much they have suffered in the past as long as they put their whole-hearted self in God’s
Every day many of us are faced with the question, “Should I step in and help?”. Some of us immediately think yes and jump in to help, while others believe it is better to keep walking. The bystander effect happens when a person does not stop and help because they think someone else will. In these situations, some people stand up and respond to the crisis, because they are not worried about what will happen to them, but what will happen to the person in crisis instead. In the novel Night and the poem “The Hangman”, the bystander effect took place because people were afraid to bring attention to themselves.
The Healing Power of His Love “Forgive them, they know not what they do,” God whispered in Immaculee’s ear. Immaculee, a Tutsi Rwandan girl, was huddled in a incredibly tiny bathroom filled with seven other young ladies hiding from mass murderers trying to kill every Tutsi in the country. She struggled day and night trying to forgive the killers, but could only think of hatred for them until God said those words in her ear. She opened her heart to him and was saved by his loving mercy. Immaculee viewed being spared and being saved as different and through Immaculee’s story she showed me that we have to love and forgive others even if they have hurt us.
In the book An Invisible Thread, the author often provides examples of parents that have a poor quality of parenting. First there is Laura’s father Nunziato Carino, who’s a bartender. After he is done with his shift, he would often come home drunk and yell at his son, Frank who is Five. Frank will quickly hide under his bed sheet as his father dammed his name again and again. This happened frequently and every one would hide in their rooms as unfortunate Frank takes his father’s heavy word beating each night.
Forgive, not because they deserve forgives, but because you deserve peace. It’s not easy to stop blaming someone’s fault, especially for someone who do wrong to us. In the book The Sunflower written by Simon Wiesenthal, a survivor of the Holocaust during World War II, he described his conflict with Karl, a dying Nazi soldier who killed many innocent Jews and begging for forgiveness for his outrageous crime at the end of his life. At the end of this sad and tragic episode, Simon did not response to Karl’s request directly; instead he left us a tough question: “What should you have done?” Based on what Karl had done during World War II and his repentance, each person might have their own point of view about where should we draw the line of forgiveness.
Eddie lived a life full of hurt, help, and happiness. Eddie died unexpectedly yet doing what he does best, helping children. He thought his life was a waste, because all he did was work at Ruby Pier. After he went to heaven and met all 5 people he came to the realization that his life was not a waste.

Jing-Mei’s mother had left China to come to America after losing her family, and had been raising Jing-Mei in America with her second husband. Despite her mother’s grand hopes for Jing-Mei to become successful in America by becoming a child prodigy, Jing-Mei did not share the same opinions.
Slavery is the story of African Americans slaves enduring oppression and bondage. In addition, it is also the story of abolitionists who risk their lives to tell the tale of African American slaves and expose the truth of what slavery has done in America. As a result, these stories give their future children hope from what they experience during those oppressive times. However, telling these stories impacts people when the authors go through the struggles, expressing their reaction and experience during those struggles. For example, Harriet Jacobs’ “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl” is a perfect response to slavery.

Like many teenagers she said things from her mouth, but not from her heart. She told her mother she hated her and wished she was dead. They had an argument and her mother said she should maybe die.
“The Veldt”, by Ray Bradbury, is a short story that contains a series of events where the children, Wendy and Peter, are constantly being spoiled with the use of technology. Their parents, George and Lydia, bought a technology filled house, which contains devices that do almost everything for them, including a nursery for the children. The nursery’s walls transform and display different environments, of which reflect one’s thoughts. The children, however, are caught using violent content inside the nursery so their parents threaten to take away all technology, including the nursery. The children become upset, throw temper tantrums, and end up locking their parents in the nursery, left there to die with hungry lions.
