In the past few decades, climate change has become a more prevalent issues in the minds of scientists and the public alike. A more densely populated planet, a high amount of industry and emission caused by transportation have each contributed to a warming earth. One direct result of a warmer earth is melting ice caps which in turn causes sea levels to rise. For the inhabitants of small island nations in the South Pacific, there is no issue more pressing or potentially detrimental to their lives.
