A young man once traveled the world, meeting many wonderful people and experiencing many wonderful things. On one of his adventures in an old, overgrown forest, he meets a kindhearted faerie. After sharing his company and listening to his stories, she decides to grant him eternal life and power, on the condition that he use this power to bring warmth and happiness to others.
The man journeys on, deep in thought over the faerie's words. He tries to think of the things he had experienced, wondering what he had seen that had more impact on him than anything else. After traveling a while longer, he comes to realize that the time in which he is the most happy and at peace is when he's resting at an inn, reading wonderful books or eating wonderful

He treats them well, introducing them to all sorts of wonderful things and stories that he had picked up in his traveling days, and they grow very close. Over time, however, their numbers dwindle as one by one they find their place in life and settle, thanks to the inn's enchantment. Before long, it's just one girl left. She visits more and more until she's at the inn every day and night. When the man questions her, she reveals that the more she visited the inn, the more she realized she belonged there, by his side. Her yearning grew until it caused her stress to be away for too long.
The man, touched, allows her to stay there indefinitely. The two spend all their time together, and she brings into his life something he never even realized he was missing. Before long the two wed, and the man reveals the truth about himself to his new bride. Eager to share his life with him, she accepts his offer to share his power with her.
Time goes on and the inn becomes even more wonderful, and their lives equally so. They have two beautiful daughters together and are famed across the land for their

The eldest daughter is forced to grow up a bit too quickly., taking the responsibilities of running the inn and raising her sister upon herself. The man, though he still loves his daughters dearly, is broken inside, spending more and more time in the cellar looking upon a multitude of too-perfect worlds, any of which could contain the lost light of his life. Not long after his wife's disappearance, he disappears as well, continuing the journey of his youth across worlds unknown.
Several years have passed. The girls, having grown up in such a magical place, are rather wonderful in their own right, shining brilliantly in everything they do. Everything they have a hand in tends to have a touch of something... extra.
