The Gospel According to Matthew was written in the Greek language in the early Christian period and is the first book of the New Testament. It has been debated that the gospel was first written in Hebrew. Papias a Christian who was a Bishop of Hierapolis in Phrygia in 130 AD speculated that Matthew was written in the Hebrew “Aramaic” language then translated to Greek. Some scholars have debated that there were two books of the Gospel of Matthew one in Hebrew and the other in Greek. Scholars have had difficulty dating this gospel but they presume that this document was thought to have been written between 70 to 100 AD. In the book of Matthew, this book explains the continuation and the fulfillment of the biblical story about how Jesus is the Messiah from the line of David, Jesus as a new teacher like Moses, and that Jesus is “Immanuel” (Emmanuel) also “God with us”. In the Gospel of Matthew, the author outlined this book with an introduction and with a conclusion and within the book there are five discourses of Jesus’s teaching.
