Thomas DiLorenzo tries to demythologize Lincoln’s reputation as a president. He does not consider that Abraham Lincoln did the job of preserving, protecting, and defending the Union, constitution, or the blacks during the greatest crisis of America. Thomas Dilorenzo give information to make Abraham looks like a hateful man. It would be hard to believe before reading this book. Lincoln is believed to be the plug to all the chaos of many events during this time.
The Emancipation Debate by Ira Berlin Ira Berlin provides a different alternative to the transformation of many women and men from property to person. Berlin illustrates the journey of black people and how they moved from slavery to freedom. Berlin argues that slaves freed themselves which is contrary to other historians’ accounts who believe that Abraham Lincoln was responsible for the beginning of liberty. President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, many historians believe culminated to the abolition of slavery.
Dr. Smith practiced medicine for 25 years, primarily at the Free Negro Orphan Asylum. He frequently gave speeches against slavery, and wrote essays for antislavery publications, including the Emancipator and the Liberator. Smith used science and his knowledge of medicine to refute false claims of slavery advocates. In one essay, he marshaled statistics against a minister's claim that slaves in the South were more content than free blacks in the North. In another, he applied his medical knowledge to counter assertions about black health and insanity.
Who do you think was our greatest president? Between Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson, I believe that Lincoln was the strongest. Lincoln managed to bring our nation through the Civil War, "one of the bloodiest and costliest in the Nation 's history" (Stone 6) with his "leaderhship, his commitment to values, and his strong moral fiber" (Stone 3). He used various strategies to survive the war, including having advisors from the opposite viewpoint to be aware of both sides of every issue. What Lincoln is remembered most for, however, is his efforts to abolish slavery, which are considered "his greatest contribution to the history of America" (Stone 5).
Thomas Jefferson was America's strongest president. Jefferson has earned this title through his various achievements as an average citizen, and as our president. Jefferson also had a lot of experience in politics before becoming the president, which gave him a large advantage over other presidents on this list. From writing the declaration of independance, to starting Lewis and Clark's expedition, Jefferson was an all around influential, and strong president. Jefferson served the United States for over 50 years!
Out of all forty four Presidents that have served the nation and its needs, there is one President that has served as an outstanding leader. Rutherford B. Hayes was one of the most influential Republican presidents during the 1800s. He was the 19th president of the United States, and he served during one of the toughest but greatest terms during his election. He battled through rebuilding the nation and making peace between the Democrats and Republicans. Hayes experienced the Civil War which gave him the right to appoint issues for the Americans.
The role of the President of the United States of America is defined by those who have held the office. The vagueness of the Constitution has allowed the power of the office to grow and shrink with the personal differences of the men who have held the position. The presidency is not just effected by those who hold the position, the institutional environment and the society of the time also take a massive role in determining the power and effectiveness of the presidency. Theodore Roosevelt and Andrew Jackson are two of the most influential presidents because they were adored by the people. Roosevelt and Jackson both stretched the power of the presidency in ways that were never envisioned by the framers of the constitution.
One of the most remembered and significant American presidents was Andrew Jackson. He is remembered as a strong leader and a notable president. Although there have been many great leaders in American history, President Andrew Jackson was one of the main influential characters in the shaping of our nation. He was majorly shaped into the powerful leader that he is remembered today as by his participation in the military. He then served two terms as president, and is remembered today as a truly acclaimed president.
The stronger president in my opinion was Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was the strongest because he accomplished Civil rights and was the one who brought the country back as one. To bring the country back as one he; fought Confederate states, freed the slaves, and wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. The Emancipation Proclamation is a letter that Abraham Lincoln wrote on January 1, 1863. The letter says that every single slave in the United States should be led free.
President Abraham Lincoln claimed the reason why the Confederate States were still able to fight in the Civil War was because of their slaves. He used his grant of wars power to help abolish slavery. Who freed the slaves? Abraham Lincoln did when he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that freed all the slaves in the sates that were fighting against the Union. It did not necessarily free all the slaves at that time, but this emancipation was the turning point of the Civil War and paved the way for the passing of the 13th Amendment into the Constitution.
Abraham Lincoln was one of the best US president. He was born into a poor family. Despite his background he was able become president. He starts to self study law. Lincoln had the idea that states do not have the right to leave the Union.
Presidents are elected to preform and achieve greatness in America; they serve as the commander and chief of armed forces, and they find ways in coming up with agreements regarding trade and aid along with many other things. Being the president is obviously not an easy task. Have you ever thought about who you thought the best presient of the United States of America was? According to a debate in Taking Sides written by Larry Madaras and James SoRelle they presented an argument between Phillip Shaw Paludan and Melvin E. Bradford debating if Abraham Lincoln was America’s Greatest President. Many people agreed and disagreed whether or not President Lincoln was the greatest; however the sides of two professors were part in the Taking Sides issue of yes or no.

Over hundreds of years America has had many presidents, some able to complete the tasks at hand, but many were not worthy of leading this nation. President Abraham Lincoln was one of the few who led the United States of America with great strength and courage. Abraham Lincoln was the best U.S. president because he had a great impact on ending slavery and he was one of the greatest natural strategists and leaders of all time. Abraham Lincoln is considered to be America 's wisest president. Abraham Lincoln, "proved to be a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader during what became the costliest conflict ever fought on American soil."
The greatest president that has ever served the United States is George Washington. He was not only the first president of the United States but also the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
