The chapter begins with nick coming back from a date with Jordan. As he came home he had thought that his house was on fire until he had noticed that it was Gatsby’s house he had told Gatsby’s that his house had looked like the world fair. Gatsby was in a way trying to kiss up to Nick he had offered to go to Coney Island or to take a swim. But Nick had noticed that Gatsby is acting different because he wants Nick to agree to invite Daisy over for tea but Nick had told him that he was going to call Daisy over for tea tomorrow. Just by Nick saying that Gatsby offers to have someone come to cut his grass and he also offers him ways to make money by joining some of his business. An hour later Gatsby hand arrived in a white flannel suit, silver shirt, and a gold colored tie, he hurried in with a pale face and sleeplessness beneath his eyes. Daisy had arrived at 4o’clock and Nick ad went to great her and had found Gatsby gone when he re-entered his house. Right after there was a knock on the door it was Gatsby he had came back “with his hands plunged like weights in his coat pockets, was standing in a puddle of water glaring tragically into my eyes.” It was very awkward when they reunited at first. Gatsby had knocked down Nicks clock “I’m sorry about the clock,” he said.” Gatsby had told nick that the meeting was a mistake, but after half an hour “Daisy’s face was smeared with tears, and when I came in she jumped up and began wiping at it with her handkerchief before a mirror. But there was a change in Gatsby that was simply confounding. He literally glowed; without a word or a gesture of exultation a new well-being radiated from him and filled the little room.” This showed how after half an hour both of their moods had
