At the beginning of The Great Gatsby, many characters were introduced to us. The main character of the book is Gatsby, this is book is solely about him and his life. He is an interesting character and revivals parts of his life to Nick, his close friend. Through Gatsby telling his story in the book a character named Daisy has been introduced and her past is explained with Gatsby. We are left with a pondering question does Gatsby really love Daisy has he claims?
1. Gatsby has large and rapid mode swings for example, he “literally growled” and immediately after “without…exultation” radiated “ a new-well being”, which suggests he is emotionally unstable (95). 2.Gatsby gives off mixes signals, for he implies he wants alone time with Daisy when he looks between Nick and her with “tense unhappy eyes”, although when Nick leaves, giving the pair some privacy, Gatsby follows him sharing that he thinks, “[the meeting] is a mistake” (85). 3. The “faint flow of thunder”, which is present outside while Gatsby is meeting with Daisy, foreshadows flow of the pair’s relationship; where many small events will lead to a large burst of pent up emotion, just like thunder is the precursor to a storm.

Readers often conclude that Jay Gatsby was the least to blame for his and Daisy’s failed relationship, but it was neither Gatsby nor Daisy’s fault.

In the book, The Great Gatsby, written by Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby pursues to find his ex-lover Daisy by buying a house and throwing massive parties across the bay hoping she would wander into his party sometime. Gatsby has a true love for Daisy and he is very eager to find her so he uses Nick as a way to reel her into his hands. In the book it quotes,” Although gatsby professed to love daisy, there is a sense that he was not in love with her as much as he was in love with the idea of her”.
Through Gatsby’s actions, he desperately created himself (wanted) to be with Daisy. Through these quotes, Gatsby shows the amount of danger he will deal with to be with Daisy. “Gatsby bought his new house so that Daisy would be just across the bay. ”(Fitzgerald 78). Gatsby moved near Daisy, acting like he was a stranger but Gatsby had wanted to be with her for five years.
Gatsby’s quest is Daisy, the woman that he is willing to sacrifice everything he would even lie and do bad things just to be with her. I don’t think his quest is consider as a Noble, because he is basically trying so hard to get this woman that he thinks his in love with but Daisy is married to another man. Trying to take another man’s wife is not a noble. Gatsby think his in love with her, he think Daisy as a perfect woman when in reality she isn’t really the person he wishes she was. She was one of the main characters in the story, “The Great Gatsby”, and she was also one of the most important and impactful. Throughout the book, her goal was to keep an innocent and good reputation to all those in the East and West Eggs, and she fully accomplished that goal.
Daisy is a girl who has a lot of different characteristics and many of them are different than what most people have. There are plenty of ways that Daisy tries to prove who she really is. In The Great Gatsby Daisy shows that her life isn’t so bad after all, that she is not all about money, and that she feels likes a princess because she has everything she needs. She wants people to know that her life isn’t so bad afterall. She has a perfect life and couldn’t ask for anything more.

Although Jay Gatsby had Daisy in his grasp towards the end of his life, his ambition wasn’t enough for him to obtain it in the end. Macbeth’s ambition and strength was enough for him to succeed in gaining what he wanted, which shows how he was more successful in achieving his ambition. Macbeth’s goal was to seize power, and he was able to do that, he became King, drove away or killed anyone trying to gain power, and fulfilled his prophecies. Macbeth’s main goal was to become more powerful, and he accomplished this by being crowned King of Scotland.
In the movie during the Plaza scene we see Tom, Jay and Gatsby get into a emotionally heated argument. Before arriving Tom learns that Daisy and Jay being having an affair and also we learn that Tom’s mistress Myrtle is planning on moving to the west. All these events leading up causes Tom to feel like the world is coming down around him. As the characters settles in the Plaza Hotel Tom confronts Gatsby about his love for Daisy. Tom says this important line in which he says this “"I suppose the latest thing is to sit back and let Mr. Nobody from Nowhere make love to your wife.
In Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Daisy is portrayed as a modern woman; she is sophisticated, careless and beautifully shallow. Daisy knows who she is, and what it takes for her to be able to keep the lifestyle she grew up in, and this adds to her carelessness and her feigned interest in life. In all, Daisy is a woman who will not sacrifice material desires or comfort for love or for others, and her character is politely cruel in this way. Daisy’s main strength, which buoyed her throughout her youth and when she was in Louisville, is her ability to know what was expected of her and feign cluelessness.
