He also had a childhood like most of the population. Ronald Reagan was born on February 6th, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. Reagan’s father was John Edward Reagan and his mother was Nelle Wilson Reagan (“Ronald Reagan”). During Reagan’s childhood, they frequently moved, which gave his child mind a chance to experience more at a younger age. Reagan attended college in Eureka, Illinois. In this college, he played Football and was a member of the drama club. After college, he became a radio sports announcer and later became a Hollywood actor where he ended up playing in over 50 films. In the 1950s, Reagan became interested in politics. Reagan ended up being the governor of California from the year 1967 to the year 1975. Ronald Reagan’s acting career is most recognized from his role in “Bedtime for Bonzo,” this film was made in the year 1951. In this film, he co-starred with a chimpanzee. It was not until the 1960s that Reagan transitioned his path from acting to politics (Dallek). Reagan was never considered a great actor, however, people enjoyed his on-screen presence.
