The case against Hubert Morgan for the “murder and felonious assault” on correctional officer William Hesson was an appropriate case for a plea bargain. Had Morgan not agreed to the plea bargain, he could have been charged with life without chance of parole for kneeing the correctional officer in the chest while they were both voluntarily wrestling in the laundry room. The plea bargain attempted to reduce the sentence to a maximum of ten years in prison for Hesson’s death. Although I disagree with the charges, it was much more appropriate for Morgan to be sentenced to seven years than to a life sentence without parole. However, even still it would have been more accurate to charge Morgan as a juvenile because he was only seventeen

Miss Leonardo cannot feasibly press charges against Vincent for battery, as it lacks substantial certainty that Vincent intended to harm Miss Leonardo by throwing his pencil on the desk. The rule for battery indicates there must be an intent to act against another person, an intent to harm another person, and the harm resulting from the intent to harm. Miss Leonardo’s injury of severe eye pain and a broken blood vessel is not in dispute, as it is the result of Vincent throwing the pencil on the desk, it bouncing off the desk, and hitting Miss Leonardo in the eye. Vincent’s intent to act was to throw the pencil on the desk, as Vincent’s anger towards his teacher clearly shows he desired to let out some of his anger, but only in the act of throwing the pencil.

The Salem Witch Trials started in 1692 and ended in 1711. The Salem Witch Trials were the period of the Puritan religion’s belief in witches in Salem, Massachusetts. The trials started with Betty Parris and her orphaned cousin Abigail Williams, when the girls began to contort their bodies, crouch beneath furniture and speak words that don’t make sense. When the girls were diagnosed as bewitched, it led to the witchhunt called the Salem Witch Trials. In Rosalyn Schanzer’s Witches!
Throughout History, women have long struggled and fought for the same equality, justice, and rights as males in society. Historians have two opposing views of what life was like in Puritan society. One side argues that Puritan society was a golden age for women as they worked alongside their husbands, had an important role in the household. However, opposing historians argue that Puritan women were inferior to men in the society for five main reasons. Women were inferior because they were supposed to be silent company, they only received half the inheritance of their brothers, they were meant to have and take care of the children, they received harsher punishment for their wrongs, and they had to follow strict rules.
Salem and the Accused An excerpt from Crucible, Stating the equitable way to arraign people. During the time of the Salem Witch Trials, many innocent people were under the accusation of being and/or dealing with witches or the devil to cause mischief among the citizens of the town. These allegation influenced the rifts in the town, and caused an isolated community in which everyone had a fear of be accused or affected. At the time, the actions they conducted could have seemed etiquette.
many similarities to the affairs that were unfolding around the author at the time of writing, the mass hysteria aroused by the communists ‘witch-hunts’ of cold war, 1950s America. As we follow the harrowing results of released repression, the hysterical accusations of Salem bears direct resemblance to communist McCarthyism as well as other similarities that unfold as the play narrates one of the most tragic periods of American history. Amidst the apparently insipid, puritanical village of Salem there was little controversy due to its populations consent to theocratic autocracy however this apparent peaceful, holy sanctuary was rife with evils that conjured the demonic hysteria throughout Salem village; these were caused by an amalgamation
of a mirror, stopped it with a touch of a finger, and then released it. As soon as it was released, the egg began to spin again, as if by magic.” Then they would stare into the mirror in hopes of seeing their future. During a session of this white magic, the group of girls, it is believed that Betty, Abigail, and other neighborhood teens played, one or two claimed they had seen a casket looking shape. Some historians believed that this was a basis of what happened in Salem with the girls.

The first four colonies of America were, New Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Rhode Island, following with Connecticut. John Winthrop, Thomas Hooker, Roger Williams, along with Anne Hutchinson, were few of the founders of the first colonies. Centered around religion, after escaping religious persecution, these colonies based the way they lived their lives around the Bible, Church, along with the New testament. The Puritans emphasized religious obligations and followed strict guidelines pertaining to the Bible. They broke away from the church of England and became their own religion following the teachings of the Bible as well as the Old Testament.
Our human nature requires us to be products of our environment. If someone grows up in a house that appreciates art, those that grow in the house are likely to inherit that trait as well. Those that grow up in tribal society are likely to hold those tendencies for the rest of their life too. As we see in Mark Bowden’s “Tales of the Tyrant” in this tribal way of life people live independently; they need not work with others, because they only have themselves. Saddam Hussein did not know how to civilly operate with others around once he rose to great power; so he was forced to use his village mentality where violence is the rule of law, thus leading to his intense and irrational cruelty.
Jazz is an American style music that was formed around 1900, the beginning of jazz actually begins in the early 1600s. Early jazz was defined into two different categories, ragtime which has no improvisation and traditional jazz (Dixieland) that has lots of improvisation. Scott Joplin is a well-known musician who helped create the ragtime style of jazz. During the 1920s they started recording jazz performances, most recording are studied from this era. A few people who made this happen in New Orleans during this time period are, Buddy Bolden, Joe “King” Oliver and Sidney Bechet.
Furthermore, the criminal behaviour of Robin Hood and his men indicates that criminals in medieval England often operated in gangs and informs us of the composition of such groups. The iconic duo of Robin Hood and Little John often set out to commit crimes together, a relationship which is still familiar to modern day audiences. However, they do not always operate together. For example, it is Little John and Much the Miller’s son who behead the monk in Robin Hood and the Monk, which is partly because they are on route to free Robin from prison. However, there is little mention in the rhymes of Robin Hood and his men operating in groups larger than two.
The church is pro-life, therefore against abortion. There have been many instances in the Bible where God wants people to choose life instead of death. In Deuteronomy 30:19, God says. “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may life, you and your descendants.”
