Lane Nelson Mrs. Griffin English II March 30 2023 The Hut The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding has many amounts of symbolism. The Hut is a symbolized object for safety and comfort. Throughout the novel Ralph, the leader of the boys, wants to make a hut for safety but Jack, the control freak, wants to kill a pig. With them two fighting the job of the huts never gets done and the huts are in pieces. The text describes the hut, “The leaves came apart and fluttered down”(50). This evidence shows that the huts are falling apart and there is no safety. This is also a cause of the boys bickering about what to do to survive.
