The American Revolutionary War was a war fought from 1775-1783, also known as the American War of Independence, between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen colonies. The colonies wanted independence and free from British rule. In order to gain their independence the colonies had to fight for it.

The result of this battle was the British lost and were removed from Boston; however they did win the Battle of Lexington. Another major event was when the Declaration of Independence was established.
What Caused the American Revolution The American Revolution was a battle for leadership in the American colonies. At the time, England controlled nearly all aspects, mostly the political and economic, of the colonial lives. Their purpose was to strengthen England. The colonies wanted the freedom from all of the control because they were doing fine without England.
A revolution is a large-scale rebellion with the intent to change or get rid of the current political system. The American Revolution was a fight to be free from British rule. Even though The Patriot is not a completely accurate portrayal of The American Revolution it is a pretty good portrayal of how times were back during revolutionary times. During “The Patriot” you can see how America was socially, during the revolution how all the colonies felt about the war, how they communicated since they didn’t have the technology we have today. In “The Patriot” you can also see what the struggles were politically since the government didn’t really have a lot of power back then and congress could find a way to fund the war.
