The National Honor Society (NHS) stands by such values as Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and character; it is these values that I strive to live by. I have received the opportunity to become a proud member of the NHS, and have been humbled by this chance. Throughout my high school career I try to be involved in anything I can help the school, from being a part of community service activities. Also, I have achieved my goal to work as hard as I possibly can to stand out among my peers. Even outside of school I have worked to uphold the values of club, and shall continue to do so if I chosen.
NHS has impacted my life because the organization has opened my eyes to what an honor society is. Like most members at first I believed that the organization primary focus was about the measure of one 's intelligence and persoal accolades. But, quickly I came to the understanding that the National Honor Society is an orgination whose beliefs are predicated on being a well roudned person. In life there are many narrow minded individuals, who only focus on one thing, such as money, intelligence, or success. But to be a truly well-rounded person you need to have more than one quality.
I have been an active member in multiple school extracurricular activities. Mu Alpha Theta is one of the clubs I part take in, and I have been a member for three years. In Mu Alpha Theta, I participate in inter-school test, practice math problems and attend math competition. Another club I participate in is National Honor Society. I have been a member in National Honor Society for eleventh and twelfth grade.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
National Honor Society has influenced my life in many ways. One event that has truly shaped my life is Special Olympics. Special Olympics is designed for kids with mental or physical challenges. These kids get to participate in countless activities such as bowling, basketball, and winter carnival. The kids compete with other teams and have a blast while doing it.
A have been a member of the National Honor Society for three years. It has been a true honor to be a part of such a wonderful organization. NHS has taught me many qualities that I use everyday and plan to continue to use through the rest of my life. What I see as the function of the National Honor Society is to encourage young adults like myself to participate more within their school and community. It allows students the ability to give and serve other people that have done so for them. This group will give many students an eye opening experience on volunteering for fellow citizens. If I were to be selected into the National Honor Society, I would contribute to the group by sharing ideas and giving useful feedback to the other students in the group. I would also provide personal experiences of certain voluntary services that I have completed, if needed.
It is a great honor to be considered for acceptance into the F.A. Verplanck Chapter of the National Honor Society. Being apart of this means more than just having outstanding grades. Even though it is an important factor, aspects like leadership, community, and character is also what shapes this organization and the people in it to be a well rounded individual. I feel as if I possess all of these characteristics and I will make me positive contribution into the National Honors Society.
National Honor Society Essay The National Honor Society is a remarkable organization as it truly helps build exemplary people for the community. Being a member allows you to provide help, and become a person of great attributes. While my GPA proves my dedication to my academics, How I use my time outside of school is what shows my commitment to bettering the community. The National Honors Society has been a constant but distant presence in my life ever since I was in middle school. Every once in awhile, teachers would mention our GPAs and tell us to keep them up if we wanted to be accepted into NHS, or they would attempt to coax us into behaving better by telling us that the National Honors Society frowned upon our current behavior. Back then, NHS was a prospective part of my future, and I didn’t worry too much about preparing. In my first two years of high school, I watched my fellow students in NHS work to keep up their grades up and to meet the volunteer requirements. I watched them and waited my turn to join them, because after learning what the National Honors Society really was and what it stood for,
As a student at Catalina Foothills High School, I believe I have lived up to the tenet of service and display ideals that the National Honors Society seek for in a student and citizen in society. If I am granted membership into the society, I believe I can contribute my qualities to the community as a member of Catalina Foothills National Honor Society and demonstrate the highest standards of behavior to represent our school honorably. To begin, I would like to establish the importance school and grades plays in my life. As of freshman year, my GPA has been a 3.8, but it constantly continues to grow and improve. My grades are a top priority in my life, because I’m aware that in order to succeed in life you need to be knowledgeable of how the world works.

Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. I hold all the qualities required by the distinguished NHS like leadership, service, character and scholarship.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
I will make sure to do my part by leading by example, serving my community and school, staying true to myself, and performing in school to the best of my ability.
