Over the past decade technology has come a long way from flip-phones to touch screen cellphones not only does technology look better but it has also harbored different opinions. At first various individuals were ecstatic to get their hands on the newest modern technology. The longer people interacted with the internet they realized overtime their perspective changed. Through its ' triumph digital technology has affected our literacy skills, the development of children, and social interactions in school. Being socially awkward also affects future education and career possibilities that could potentially ruin their future. Dr. Alter mentions "Today, we’re checking our social media constantly, which disrupts work and everyday life (Alter)." Today in America almost the whole population owns some sort of technological device and every day they check their social media. Seconds turn into hours when people are surfing the web without them realizing it is distracting them from their responsibilities. Students in school do this and do not pay attention to what they are learning. Students use social media to get away from their duty to school and individuals have gone as far as pushing everyone aside when they need help. Technology has caused some individuals to have behavioral changes due to their own experiences with social media. This dilemma only intensifies the longer they are exposed to social media and thus affects them as a whole. Students and the rest of the human population should have a time where they separate themselves from technology and interact with each other. Billions of people all over the world have been exposed to the wonders of
