I was introduced to computers at a very young age. My family purchased its first computer when I was six years old. Initially I was a little scared of damaging the device and so I rarely touched it, but my elder brother encouraged me to begin exploring its uses. I started experimenting with the computer and as time passed my fear transformed into passion and I found myself slowly drifting towards the field of computer science. I was fortunate in the following years to have the opportunity to study at two of the best universities in India, where I not only developed my programming skills but also found my area of specification. I did my postgraduate studies at DAIICT where I got opportunity to study with some of that school’s best professors and teaching assistants.One such TA was doing research on natural language processing.The idea of computers understanding and communicating with humans using our day to day language intrigued me. I started learning more about NLP and would often indulge in discussions on the topic. This is when I decided to pursue a career in that field..
