Being lucky enough to live in the very privileged city of San Francisco, many people including myself are very unaware of “minor” issues that actually cause massive dilemmas in the everyday lives of many misfortunate people. Being the first American born child in a one hundred percent Bosnian family allows me to have an understanding of two very different countries and with constant vacations to Bosnia, I have first person experiences of the countries and the simple conclusion I come to is that USA and Bosnia are virtually incomparable. The issue that I am discussing in my advertisement is the lack of effort the Bosnia and Herzegovina government have to construct paved roads throughout the entirety of the country. The lack of a strong government due to disagreements between ethnicities even 22 years after the war cause the nation to be at a constant halt rather than improving leaving the citizens as the only ones suffering. …show more content…

The reason why this is an issue is because a large amount of the Bosnian population lives in the countryside which means that constant commuting and traveling to the city is actually a very dangerous trip on sandy, rocky, uneven roads around mountains and connecting suburban cities and villages. The people that live outside of the cities are very much economically deprived leaving them two choices; farm and transport the food and livestock to the cities or commute to work in the cities. These trips can be best described as sketchy and dangerous with a high number of deaths caused by people driving off of the roads and accidents that are mainly caused by very difficult driving conditions with no cement roads, no roadside lighting, small roads, and no
