Women used many different ways to earn the right to vote in the Women's Suffrage Movement. The first method was parading in the streets. There was a parade with floats and lots of women marching holding signs demanding the right to vote. This method was used to get publicity for their cause. It was reported about in the newspaper.
What exactly is are the purposes for the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution? The Articles of Confederation was written by the Continental Congress during the Revolutionary War, to basically give the colonies some sense of a unified government. On the other hand, the Constitution was created by the founding fathers to establish a federal government for United States of America, and assign to federal government certain powers. Both documents had similar purpose, but one was more stronger and efficient. Women wanted to focus on topics that appealed to them as women, and mothers. The campaign to get women’s suffrage took over twenty years to get women the right to vote just like the men around them. In these two decades, women had over 480 campaigns in legislatures, over 200 campaigns in state party conventions and almost 20 campaigns in congress before the women got the same right as men. Many women actually believed that women should not gain the right to vote and were against the suffrage movement because they blamed women for how things ended up with their businesses. But in the 1800s women were expected to make children, cook, and clean. They were also constantly overlooked by their husbands and“did not have the rights to their children if they were divorced” while “all their income would go to their husbands” (Nashville Public Television).
Women’s suffrage began early on, in the mid 1800s, and only came to fruition in 1920. Suffragettes formed groups to fight for their rights, and the passage of the nineteenth amendments demonstrate the success of these groups, including the National Woman’s Party and the National American Woman Suffrage Association on politics. Progressivism was at it roots, a group movement, and the passage of this amendment signifies the inherent triumph of Progressivism. Goals of the Progressives were simple when simmered down: “Progressives sought to improve the conditions of life and labor and to create as much social stability as possible” (Link and McCormick 182). The accomplishment of female suffrage improves the female condition of life and betters social stability, as well as extends democracy.
Women were constantly fighting for their rights and kept getting denied, as they didn't have much support. Many people during this time felt that women shouldn't be trying to make a name for themselves. Many believed that women should be at home and taking care of the kids and raising promising citizens. However, tension brew between women who felt that they deserved to have the same rights as men. These rights consisted of many things but one of the most important laws was the right to vote.

Suffrage means to have the right to vote in political elections. This concept is an ideal meaning for women throughout history, especially for the women population between late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Women suffrage commenced at the Seneca Falls, which later on had escalated to Unions, then led to the 15th and 19th amendment. Of course, the men of that time had belittled the women who believed that they were more than merely the traditional mothers and wives. Although, suffrage is not only just for females, but to the Black population too; both males and females.
Equality has been a problem in many nations for centuries. Since the start of time, it has been believed that men are far more superior to women and that the rights of women should be limited. In many countries today, it is the social norm for women to have limited rights including the right to voice their opinions. All around the world women have had no say in who runs their country, or in decisions that affect them. The United States had this same problem until women stood up and fought for their right to vote.
Although Mill was very keen on women being giving the rights to vote he was not taken by the idea of women become independent from their husbands. It is well known that the suffragettes contributed a great deal in which women were given the rights to vote worldwide. The suffragette movement didn’t begin to take place up until 1890. There were seventeen individual groups who came together all supporting the women’s suffrage. This included the London Society for Women’s Suffrage, Manchester Society for Women’s Suffrage and the Central Committee for Women’s Suffrage.
The women’s suffrage movement was a very difficult time for these women at the time. On June 20, 1908 is when the suffrage day happened and everyone was there including the women who wanted their right to vote. The women went through some difficulties to get their right to vote.
