Since Tesco aims to expand and diversify, that required the business to select the right people, in the right place, because customers’ needs and wants are different and the culture of each area varies. Tesco need to have flexible employee who are able to adapt the change in order to satisfy the customer.
Task 1 1.1 - Describe the benefits of personal and professional development There are many benefits to personal and professional development. Firstly, it helps the individual get sense of direction. The individual gains self-awareness, meaning they are clearer on where they are and what they want to achieve. They also gain an understanding of the organisations plans and expectations for them.
Introduction- My case study is about Personal Social and Emotional Development (PSED) and the importance of it in the lives of children and the key role it plays as part of their growth and development. The child I am observing is a 3 years 8 months old girl called Emily. She lives at home with both of her parents and an older brother who is 10. Her father is Irish and works fulltime 5 days a week and her Mother is Spanish and works at the weekends.
I would like to reflect upon how I manage my work priorities and professional development. In doing so I would go on to explain how I serve as a positive role model in the workplace through personal work planning and organisation, how I ensure personal work goals, plans and activities reflect the organisation’s plans, and own responsibilities and accountabilities. Then I will explain how I measure and maintain personal performance in varying work conditions, work contexts and contingencies, take initiative to prioritize and facilitate competing demands to achieve personal, team and organizational goals and objectives, use technology efficiently and effectively to manage work priorities and commitments, maintain appropriate work/ life balance, and ensure stress is effectively managed and health is attended to. Subsequently, I will discussion on how I assess personal knowledge and skills against competency standards to determine development needs, priorities and plans, seek feedback from employees, clients and colleagues and use this feedback to identify and develop ways to improve competence, identify, evaluate, select and use development opportunities suitable to personal learning style/s to develop competence. Finally, I will look into how I undertake participation in networks to enhance personal knowledge, skills and work relationships, identify and develop new skills to achieve and maintain a competitive edge.
All of these can step-by-step help me develop my personal and professional skills, also provide a foundation for continued professional development. To conclude my reflection, I have discussed my future employability, how to use the skills and experiences to own professional development,
I can consider my professional development experience in two parts: Before I became a teacher and after I became a teacher. During my teacher education at university I used to imagine myself as the teacher of that lesson and I used to try to draw some tips for my future job. I observed my teachers’ way of teaching, their rapport with students and their reactions. I always commented on why or why not they behave in that specific way and search for examples to be applied in my future job as a teacher. I believe that these observations provided me with some valuable and conclusive clues for my job.
1.1 Introduction In today’s environment, the ownership is on us, as an individual to take responsibility for our own development, rather than expecting our organization to do it for us. The question, which always ponders over mind is does my personal skills suits to today’s dynamic world? If not, how do I move forward? Now days the Professional development is essential for our life, it can provide the drive to progress careers, kept across the industry competitive and, ultimately, can make you more employable. Professional development is something you will do every day of your life without even thinking about it; however, being aware of the development you learned will allow you to record this and develop in a proffessional way. In order to be effectively in work field and your lifetime, it is important that you need to improving your knowledge and skills continually to keep yourself at high levels of professional competence. When I finished my degree at university and go to work area I found difficulty to deal with problems in work field, because the people I met are think in different way from people where I was at university, it is something like to put someone inside box for long time after that you put it in crowded area and he or she has to communicate with these people in order to be up to date for life changes.
