Habitat destruction is the main human activity that causes the population of Proboscis Monkey declined and to become as an endangered species in Borneo and it was also been listed in IUCN lists. Habitat destruction is one of the human activity that natural habitat of flora and fauna are been altered and no longer supports the organisms it originally sustained. The habitat are been altered for due to agriculture, fire, logging, hunting, tourism, and human habitation. Proboscis monkey are mostly inhabit in mangrove forest and peat swamp forest. However, habitat destruction may causes the habitat isolation where the proboscis monkey will be isolated and no gene flow between the population, thus the population of the species are decreases. Hence, conservation is an essential action to ensure the population size of endangered species increases until to the normal population size in future day. As mentioned by Bennett (1986), public support in conservation is the most effective way to conserve the animals in long-term way. For example, production of short film and show the film about the threat that faced by the proboscis monkey to the public, thus they are undoubtedly understand the threat of proboscis monkey with the obvious image show to them. Besides, Kaewplang (2011) stated that, the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) conducted an awareness campaign, the campaign consisted of publication, television and radio exposure, and conferences within six months to conserve the Belum, and Temengor forests, resulted in the human activities were successfully in control due to this activity.
