Family plays a critical role in the life of each person at one point or another. Whether one realizes it or not, the experiences we have with our families shape our lives and our personalities. In the short novel, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, the theme of the importance of family is interwoven throughout the novel. The novel explores two very different views of the importance of family, one from Scrooge and one from Bob Cratchit. Towards the end, Scrooge begins to realize the true importance of family and tries to become a changed man.

Being Hispanic to me is the strength the culture has given me to not give up. Hispanics in the United States face many struggles, not only when many decide to move to this country, but also the issues faced in the countries we come from. Being Hispanic has giving me values and responsibilities to represent who I am as individual; for my culture, my country, and my family. Since the beginning my family has been able to turn a bad situation around.
For example, once when me and my sister were getting hungry, my mom, even though she was grading papers, still stopped her work to give me and my sister dinner. I know how hard she works every day, but it surprises me that she doesn't want to wait till she's finished with her work. I am very thankful for this because if she didn't take time out of her work to make dinner, I would have to make it and I really wouldn't want to cook. My final reason my mom is my personal Michigan hero is that she knows a lot of things to help me and that is really important for me, especially to help me with homework.
I am also thankful for friends I have who always cheer me up when
My family exemplifies strength. On the prime examples in my life is my grandparents. Being born poor in Mexico, my grandparents had little chance of advancement in their home. Henceforth, this caused them to take a huge risk; moving to the United States of America.
Martha looked at the myth of Thanksgiving. The idea that an entire family would happily get together for a huge meal. The family will think and talk about everything that they are thankful for. This is heavily discussed in elementary schools. As a child I remember my teacher suggesting that at dinner we should go around the table and have each family member say something that they are thankful for.
Thanksgiving It was thanksgiving morning and little Timmy was very excited. It was his first time staying over at Grandma 's and Grandpa’s since his parents were gone on a vacation. Socrates strongly believes that “an unexamined life is no life for a human being to live.” From reading “Apology,” Socrates has shown his people to question not only others about their knowledge, but to question one’s knowledge too. When speaking about knowledge, it’s not necessarily speaking about one’s stance in their vocabulary or how much you know when it comes to mathematics, rather it’s speaking about life subjects, how much you know about yourself relating to life in general. And that is when examining one’s life is very valuable. It not only helps you reflect back on your achievements, but it also helps you reflect back on your flaws.

I also know that my brothers will always be there for me if I ever need someone to talk to. My family always has my back in the toughest of times and I am beyond grateful for that. This makes me feel as if I never have to handle a tough situation alone. I am also very grateful that I have good friends that I can confide in and talk to about anything.

It’s humbling when we realize that our family on earth is patterned after our family in heaven. Some people don’t feel what is the feeling of being with your family. It is because others are working abroad, others don’t have time being with their families. You have to be thankful because you have a family whom you can laugh, smile, and bond
