As we found the Squirrel Monkey exhibit in Monkey Village, we began preparing our data tables and papers to gather all the information needed. Firstly, we set aside around 10 minutes to draw the habitat and take pictures for future reference. Next, we began the initial sampling method, the ad-lib recording. In this type of recording, you call out and write down everything observed. We stood together in an area that we thought the monkeys were most populated and took the recordings.
The Scopes Monkey Trials In the small town of Dayton, Tennessee, John T. Scopes, a young high school teacher, came to fame while being put on trial for educating his students about evolution. The infamous Scopes Monkey Trial captivated the nation as the right to free speech came into question under the Butler Act. Although Scopes was found guilty, he became a symbol of the movement towards a religious-free school system. In the later years of the 19th century, the third great awakening took place, sweeping across the nation.
Therefore, I think it is normal for soldiers to have some kind of souvenir from home to help them remember the good times and to take their minds off the war. Lieutenant Cross’s situation was a bit different from the other soldiers because he had became obsessed with Martha. A woman who did not love him and only thought of him as a friend.

Especially in the chapter Stockings and Style. Soldiers came back from the war with many hardships and effects from what they experienced. As a platoon leader Jimmy Cross carried a compass, maps, code books, binoculars, and a .45- caliber pistol. Medic, Rat Kiley carried a satchel filled with medicine, plasma, surgical tape. More than half a million service members face mental health challenges during and after war. During war, soldiers are exposed to many different traumatic events that raise the chances of facing mental health challenges. The most common mental health problems soldiers are more likely to carry with them after war is PTSD, depression, alcohol addiction, and anxiety. In the book, “The Things They Carried,” written by Tim O’Brien, characters carried things that are both literal and figurative. While the soldiers carry heavy physical items, they also carry mental, emotional, and physical baggage.

The Things They Carried “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien is a short story set during the Vietnam War. In the story, O’Brien lists many different items soldiers in the Alpha Company carried with them as they humped across the rugged terrain. Many carried necessities such as rations, matches, ammunition and things of that nature; however, many soldiers also carried quite peculiar objects such as condoms, pantyhose, and M&Ms. Readers can grasp a closer insight of the characters’ lives after further examination of the symbolism and meaning of the things they carried.
Many Primates go insane, rocking back and forth, pacing endlessly in the cages, and engaging in repetitive motions such as back-flipping. The primates also self harm themselves by tearing out their own hair or biting their own flesh. There was video footage taken inside Covance, the University of Utah, and the Oregon National Primate Research Center illustrates the extent of the insanity that can result when primates are completely deprived of meaningful sensory stimulation. The procedures they do to primates are Pharmaceutical tests which is a thick gavage tubes are forced up primates’ nostrils or down the animals’ throats so that experimental drugs can be pumped into their stomach, Vaccine tests is when chimpanzees and rhesus monkey are given
Studying captive primates can help us learn not only how they behave, but also how they are similar or different to each other and humans as well as give us insight into the effects of captivity. This paper will be describing, comparing, and contrasting the behavior of two species of captive primates at the Alexandria Zoo, golden lion tamarins and howler monkeys, as well as discussing the possible effects captivity could have had on them. This paper will also discuss any human-like behaviors observed in the two primate species and what we as humans could learn about our own behavior by studying primates. The two primates I observed were 1 of 3 golden lion tamarins (Leontopithecus rosalia) all of unknown gender and a solitary female howler
I’ll start by addressing the obvious. Abortion is extremely controversial. Some believe it’s a case of murder and others believe that it is something that should be kept legalized. Simply put, abortion is a choice that only the parents of the baby should make. Or more specifically, the mother.
It was only in December of 2007 when The Acting Surgeon General approved a request of the 85th Medical Detachment (COSC) to send 2 dogs to Iraq (Ritchie & Amaker, 2012). The use of these animals in this particular application is new to the military community. As veterans are returning to home with a variety of different health issues,
Animals and humans share more in common than you think. Although we don't necessarily look the same, we share the same emotions. Including happiness, sadness and many other traits. Other than emotions animals can act similar to humans as well. For example, animals may show that their scared by hiding or running away just like humans.
