Topic Overview Everything in this world is governed by rules and regulations in order to have a disciplinary approach. People who follow and obey these rules are succeeded whereas those who transgress them will face the downfall. Sports are also conducted with these rules that serve to ensure a fair competition and allow consistent arbitrating of the winner. However sports, like any other element is not being saved from the corruption. Athletes are alleged of cheating, gambling and doping. Doping refers to the use of banned athletic performance enhancing drugs by the competitors. Among the list of doped athlete’s lies a name remembered as Lance Armstrong. Born on September 18, 1971, in Plano Texas, Lance Edward Armstrong was an American professional cyclist. My Opinion and suggestions In my opinion the athletes who use banned drugs for just enhancing their performances and no other medical reasons should be caught and charged for crossing the limits and strict actions should be taken against them. Chastisement should be severe so that athletes, who are planning to cheat, amend their decision. However, if the coach is pressuring his team to use drugs in this case the coach should face the penalties but not the athlete. On the other hand if the athlete had to take any of these drugs as a treatment of some illness then it should be allowed for example if an anemic cyclist wants to take EPO then it should be considered as a treatment and not a doping
