My father and mother, being immigrants, have had a significant contribution to shaping my goals, perspectives, and ideals. Based on their experiences in America, I have developed more traits that I am proud to acknowledge, For instance, I have become a more ambitious and resilient person, which contributes to all of the work that I handle. I believe this was stemmed from watching my father come home from 12-hour shifts at an exhausting job each day. He was come a long way from when he first arrived in this country, working multiple minuscule jobs. He was able to make growth from this and start up a small business where he works tremendously to provide for our family. People’s misconceptions of me have discouraged me at times but I have now learned that it is a duty to prove these people wrong by showing them that I can do more in life. It has also shaped me in a way that I am more aware of the prejudices and laws erupting against people of Hispanic backgrounds. My knowledge has expanded more about the situations in the real world and has made me want to make a change in this. The experiences I have faced as a child of immigrants has made my goals vital contributions to my future.
