Funding for community health organizations comes from multiple sources. The primary distinction is whether it is a government run community health organization or a nonprofit community health organizations. Governmental organizations are mainly funded by taxes and state money. Nonprofits are mainly funded by government grants, fees, and local funds, foundation funds, corporate sponsorship, and service organizations (Chrismon, 2015). Managing these relationships may be vital in maintaining steady support. This may be achieved through recognizing and honoring large donations or regular donors (Chrismon, 2015). Useful materials for maintaining relationships are envelopes, brochures, thank you cards, and low costing handouts (Chrismon, 2015). Policies have been put in place to protect donors from fraudulent practices. Unfortunately, restrictions of the nonprofit sector, create limits to the growth and ability to allocate received funds (Talk, 2015).
