The United States, a nation of secrecy and wealth, found access into World War I on April 6th, 1917. During the early 1900’s, Woodrow Wilson gained presidency and took initiative for all actions that America took towards war effort. His initiative was to pull the United States away from the war, but inturn it pushed them to challenge the competing nations. Uninterrupted persuasion from individuals within the nation played a significant role World War I. America’s entry into the WWI was inevitable due to President Woodrow Wilson’s victory in the campaign of 1916, which brought about a well-built alliance with Great Britain, and initiated the use of propaganda to engage the nation into war. The alliance was specifically created because both nations had similar “ties that bind”. In other words, Great Britain had a similar government type, they followed the same culture, and had commercial ties to America (Holt 239). More importantly, America and Great Britain spoke the same language, so it was easier to communicate about the events of the war. The United States was able to gain a connection with the powerful force Great Britain and seeked passage to acquire news about the war. Whereas Great Britain, took the alliance for granted and penetrated the Trans-Atlantic cable in order to manipulate the American forces(history.ov thin). The Transatlantic cable ran under the Atlantic Ocean and was a source of communication for all Americans to hear about the news occurring in the war. Great Britain cut the cable in order to report false information to the United States about the terror caused by other nations. Along with the alliance U.S. had with Great Britain, America stayed in partnership with France and Russia as well. France, Russia, and Britain, also known as the allied powers, were in need of additional forces because Russia had parted from the war in December of 1917(Holt 242).
