Technology helped bring up the economy with new discoveries, inventions and upgrades to help Aamerican lives after the war with Eeurope ended in 1918 . The invention of automobiles helped all other technology evolve because everyone needed transportation , but these benefits came with a negative effects . The first major invention created in the 1920’s was the automobile, invented by Henry Ford . A couple years later the Ford company was born . Many automobiles were being sold , by the end of the decade, at least every family had one1 Fford car . The automobile was basically the root to all other technology , for example , they helped bring the success of the movie industry, because people had faster transportation to the the movie theaters . The price for a radio was up to 400 to 850 dollars , then the first public station was created known as the KDKC . After the first radio station in 1920 , by 1922 600 radio stations had been created . It 70 percent of all americans had a radio . Radio had become a passtime to many listeners , gathering families in living rooms just to listen to news , sports , live shows and music . Crystal radios were the first radios to be manufactured and used , why ? These radios were easy to make from home . Lead galena and cat whiskers were needed to catch the signal for the radio . People built their own radio because the supplies was so cheap , all the supplies to build it was only 6 dollars . Radios began to upgrade as years went by , to wooden with antennas and signal collectors , to 250 watt transmitters and lastly to plastic batteryless . The first automobile separated families and the radio came along and brought families back together
