On September 21, 1823, Joseph Smith had a vision. A prophet by the name Moroni came to him and told him that there was a book written on golden plates which contained the history of the first inhabitants of North America, as well as the “fullness of the everlasting Gospel” (LDS, 2012). Moroni also revealed that the book was personally “delivered by Jesus to the ancient inhabitants” (LDS, 2012). Moroni wrote in the sacred book one last time before burying it in the Hill Cumorah, where Joseph Smith eventually found it. Upon discovering the book of golden plates, Joseph Smith was also given a magical breastplate that could translate documents. Therefore, it is an unholy and disrespectful to tattoo ones body. Another cultural issue Jehovah’s witnesses contest are blood transfusions. They believe that the individuals ‘s life-spirit is in the blood, therefore it should not be transferred to another person, even if it is life threatening. Lastly, Jehovah’s Witnesses are advised against listening to secular music. They believe that music should be something that pleases God. Both religions coexist easily within the world, as rifts between the two are not very
