This quote has a lot of meaning in the sense of Amir eyes, as Baba has just died suddenly without any time to wish him good bye. But, at least they were able to give him a goodnight kiss, and all of a sudden after he said they won’t need medicine tonight because he feels no pain he dies. It seems that he knew he was going to dyke, and did not have anything to complain about his life as Amir was now settled, and he went to school, as well she got married in the presence of Baba, so what else would Baba ever want then seeing his son be happy in life. This quote does reflect on how Baba was their with Amir most of the time in his life and now all of a sudden, although I was expected as Baba had cancer it shows that Amir just lost the only person …show more content…

This quote also illustrates although Baba did not think highly about Aamir since he was young, and always argued about his hobbies like reading, writing, and choosing his career, he was the one person according to Amir who showed him his way on how to approach life. Now that he has he own life with Soraya I think he will be able to learn how to not do anything just to get attention like he did with Hassan, and may this is the time he will reflect back on his bad deeds and how he ruined four people's lives. Personally even I would have been really sad if my dad died and he was the only family I had left, although Amir had Soraya that as his wife not the person he would go and talk like a father-son. I think that Bab’s death won’t really make a change in Amir’s life as they really did not have that father-son connection from the beginning of the book, however I do feel that since they moved the the united states they had gotten closer especially after his graduation, however he was then diagnosed with cancer so Amir would had seen that
