Although he did not necessarily accomplish his childhood goal, he received greater lessons by not doing so. In trying to achieve his childhood goal, he came to understand that his abilities may not allow him to become an NFL player.

One Tuesday, Schwartz and Albom have a discussion about death and Schwartz provides insight about living life to the fullest, saying people should know that eventually, they will die and that one should be “prepared for it at any time…that way you can actually be more involved in your life while you're living” (Albom 76). Morrie Schwartz provides the perspective he has learned being terminally ill and having studied sociology and relays that people are too caught up in their own thoughts and worries, that they forget to live life as they are too focused on the things that no longer matter, like the past. Schwartz examines how life is not fulfilling for many people because “most of us all walk around as if we’re sleepwalking.
The article “Writing to Learn Mathematics by: Bernadette Russek” makes the reader understand why and how writing is a part of mathematics and how it will always be. When taking College writing, you are taught how to write, and the same go with math, so why is it so difficult? Assessment scores and grades are important, but other factors should be added in as well. ACT/SAT scores, placement testing with the college, and pre-requisites that are required, for the new high school graduate doesn’t seem like a lot, but what about the students that decided to take a year or two off, or the people that what to go back after 10 or 15 years to advance their opportunities with their careers or even switch their career? Most college ’s require science classes to be 5 years old or less otherwise they need to be taken over.
I learned how to adapt to the individual needs of students to provide them the best education. Like students with a communication disorder, many of my students would shy away from activities or tasks because of obstacles. Through these experiences, I watched my students gain the confidence to participate in activities and excel in academics to become successful individuals. As a future Speech Language Pathologist, many qualities that I possess can be improved by furthering my education.
Imagine a close family member finding out they have cancer. Most people would be devastated, but my mom concurred through it and continued to brighten everyone’s day, D.
