At the beginning of this show many of us weren’t comfortable being as over the top as we were, but once we stepped out side of our comfort zones we completed the task at hand. So as I continue to sing in Sartell Choirs and any choir, I want to continue to step out side of my comfort
Al Ulbrickson was a coach for Washington University's rowing team. He was a good coach but was losing to other teams, and finally got his team in rhythm. Later on towards the end of the book, USA won the Olympics for rowing. In the non-fiction book, "The Boys in The Boat," written by Daniel James Brown, Al was a good coach but the opposite to other people. Al was a little too harsh sometimes and made the boys move seats from time to time, but Al was harsh in a good way as well as a clever and caring coach.
In Earle Birney’s descriptive lyric poem “Vancouver Lights” written during the Second World War, a reader is introduced to the poem through a visual panorama of sky, ocean, and city from on top of a mountain. The speaker is expressing his feelings of both celebration for human accomplishment and pessimism for probable doom while over-looking wartime Vancouver on a moonless night. Earle Birney alludes to Greek mythology throughout the poem, but the most prominent and chief allusion is to Prometheus, which is skillfully placed in the last stanza of the poem as it sparks the light to the underlying meaning. Earle Birney’s allusion to the Prometheus myth presents the poem in a way that reinforces the ultimate juxtaposition of lightness and darkness
Wallence, David Foster, “This Is Water”. Kenyon College Commencement Speech, 2005. In “This is Water”, the author David Foster Wallance introduces the idea of people being concern of what is revolving around them, causing the individual to avoid the fact they are responsible of their own actions and thoughts. In the process, Wallance claims that people live their life the way they think they should, because it has come to a point that everything they do becomes a routine.
Around 2 years ago, I stepped into a small room in Lancaster. I saw about 20 other girls in that room, all accompanied by their parents. My mom picked up a paper and my sister and I sat down. I was shaking looking at my sheet music, trying to remember the tune.
I could feel the beat of the music and the frequency of the pitch and tone of their notes. It was electrifying. My heart seemed to jive to the tempo as I was singing along with the
vIn this case I am not going to discuss the drink sherry. Instead I am referring to the song “Sherry” that became the number one hit for the talented group The Four Seasons on September 15, 1962. The members of this band were considered to be the godfather of Italian-American soul. They were Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi.
Back home in Richmond California my friends and I found a spot where you can see a nice view pretty much the whole Bay Area you can see the Bay Bridge clearly when its not foggy , we found this spot by accident we weren 't looking for it so it makes it even better feels like a place we discover in our home town. On the way to the spot you have to park in a uphill street then you walk into the main trail the trail has big redwood trees left and right the redwood trees are huge only place near home where theres redwood trees . Walking through the main trail theres a lot of acorns in the floor that have all fallen of the trees ,the main pathway leads you to multiple trails which we went into one that no one goes too ,which is about a 10 minute
“Caked by the Ocean” is another popular pop culture song composed and produced by the American dance band DNCE, including members Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and JinJoo Lee. This disco-jazz piece debuted on September 18, 2015 and was ranked 44 by Billboards as one of the top 100 best pop songs of 2016. At the very beginning of the song, the drums are played at a fast beat creating an indefinite high pitch with an intensified frequency. Thereafter, singer Joe Jones begins singing with a strong deep voice, clearly articulating the words of the song as the drums and cymbals begin to play.
And I did; for it didn’t take long for this place to be completely filled up. After twenty minutes of playing my set, which would make the time twenty after ten, the entire dance floor was taken over by crazy dancers who were yelling at the top of their lungs and having the time of their life. They seemed to be taking a strong liking toward my stuff, which gave me nostalgia as to why I do this sort of thing; and—even though I didn’t have the pony who should have stuck with me through everything I ever dreamed of doing—I knew I’d be fine since I was starting a new life right here in Manehattan. And that was good.
What a wonderful experience I had with my family at the Dallas Museum of Art. We explored the many timeless exhibits and just hearing my children ask question after question and seeing their engagement was an experience that I am hoping to have visiting other art exhibits sooner than later. At first glance of Max Liebermann “At the Swimming Hole (Im Schwimmbad)” I was drawn into the painting by its concept of it being a look into the everyday life of a young boy in the 1870’s. Yet, having to explain to my children what exactly was going on in this picture, that in today’s age would be deemed inappropriate. The conversation with my children and this formal and stylistic analysis at that point went hand-in-hand.
In “Find Your Beach”, a narrative essay written by Zadie Smith, the writer expresses her belief that is one is adamant enough, one can arrive at their beach - a paradise-like environment that people dream of, but is believed to be very hard to obtain. The idea of a person’s “beach” being hard to discover can be observed through Smith’s personal background, as it is almost mythical for this English writer living in Soho, Manhattan to come by a beach. What I took away from Smith’s text is the idea that when you finally arrive at your beach, “sooner or later you will be sitting on that beach wondering what comes next”. Overall, I interpreted one’s beach being defined as a person’s happiness. It is something we all have the potential to posses
Working as much as I could with him, my voice improved drastically, but my sound had not completely formed to my goal tone. Continuously and slowly improving, I learned various techniques and exercises that formed the foundation of my voice, the air support from the diaphragm. The only obstacle that prevented me from progressing more was the natural anchor of my voice still changing, which prevented it from having a developed tone. It was not till my twelfth grade year that my voice matured and developed the musical tone I always knew I could
The Author of “On The Bridge” portrays the message of how society often pressures people into being somebody they are not just to fit in. The author portrays this message symbolically by portraying Seth’s desire to be cool throughout the story through Seth’s denim jacket. Whereas in the beginning of the story Seth failed create the illusion of a worn out jacket and how Seth wanted the jacket to look cool (be cool). However at the end of the story when the jacket actually looked worn out and cool (Seth would be considered cool) Seth decided to throw it out (Strassers) .
Hannah responded, “Trees or Not Today,” which I choose Not Today because it only used two strings and was tuned to my bass. I quickly practiced until my fingers started to cramp. The following weekend I traveled over to Hannah’s house to pick her up to go get dinner and see some movies, to pull my bass guitar out of the car. She couldn’t hear it very well, as I hadn’t bought an amplifier for it yet, but once she realized the song that I was playing she started crying, tears of joy. When the song was done she jumped from the sofa as I took off the bass to get tackled to the ground in a bear hug.
