Lightning Thief Essay In the book Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief, Percy has a Prophecy. His Prophecy has four parts. The first part is that he will go west and face the god that has turned. The second part is that he would find what was stolen and have it returned safely. The third part is that he would be betrayed by the one he calls a friend. The fourth and final part is that he would fail to save what matters most in the end. All of this comes true. The first part of the prophecy(He will go west and face the god that has turned) comes true when Percy, Grover, and Annabeth start heading to the underworld. This comes true when he is in the underworld and his bag starts to feel heavy. That was because the bag was rigged to have the master bolt appear in it when Percy was close to hades. The fourth and final part of the prophecy, Percy would fail to save what matters most in the end. To Percy, what mattered most in the end is saving his mom. Percy didn’t take up the quest to stop the fight between the big 3, he took it to save his mom.
